New PB in my Auto 5.5Gen
New PB in my Auto 5.5Gen
For weight reduction I had the spare, jack, and whole rear seat removed. I would have removed the passenger seat, but I had to drop my wife off somewhere before I left. I would hold the car at 1200 rpm's, and let it roll ever so slightly before I hit the accelerator so I wouldn't spin. I would shift the car manually once it passed 6,000 rpm's. Here's my best time.

I'm happy with my second time to the track, but I can still improve.

HondaV6...I was just curious what your Accord does in the quarter. I lined up against a Accord V6 coupe at the track a few times, and he ran low 15's every time. I saw he had a cat back exhaust, but I'm not sure about any other mods. I was just wondering if that was normal...

Thats the 6th gen Accord V6 which is 98-02. Those do run low 16's average. Some guys including my dads 98 have broken into the high 15's but thats not common. The 7th gen Auto V6 runs high 14's-low 15's and the 6spd runs 14.2-14.4 stock.
A 03 Accord V6 auto like mine with CAI and Exhaust will run mid 14's at sea level. A stock auto Accord V6 like mine will run high 14's to mostly low 15's stock. There is a guy with a 03 Accord Sedan LX V6 auto with just intake running 14.56@97MPH. We have a few other automatic guys on V6P.net running 14.7's@97 with just intake. Thats pretty good seeing the accord V6 running low 15's consistantly at the track you were at. The exhaust doesn't give the best gains. Its about 6whp and 5wtq. I notice though with my Intake the gains were amazing. With the combo of the I/E it seems to really open these cars up. Do you know what that accord was trapping?
It sounds like he was not manualy shifting from the lower traps. The auto accord v6s shift around 6500rpm without manual shifting. When manual shifting you can shift at the 6800rpm redline. Most guys on V6P hit low 15's stock without manual shifting.
