4th gen injectors in a 3rd gen?

From what I've beeen reading

It seems fuel injectors from the VQ30DE's will also work in a VE30DE.

I Came to this observation after seeeing this ebay auction:

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...tab%3DWatching

Which then led me to win this following auction.

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...tab%3DWatching

For some reason im still wondering if this is maybe too good to be true. When I called Nissan parts, they thought I was nuts for trying to put 4gen injectors in a 3rd gen. But from comaparing part #'s from other auctions, and online distributiors, It seems that these should work for me.

I guess it would just be too perfect if the fuel rail assembly from the 97 would also work in the 92.. Didnt get a chance to ask the nissan guy to look up the part # on the two years.. Probably becacuse he would have hung up on me for even asking.

Yes,the VQ30DE injectors will work on a VE30DE.

The VQ fuel rail will most likely not work,so if you buy the injectors in the second auction,be prepared to swap them into your VE rails..You will need to buy new rubber O'rings preferably from the dealership.

I'm curious what would happen if you threw some VE injectors in a VG or vice-versa...It should still run, I think...

What do you guys think the quality of those Ebay Injectors are?

Worth getting for $100?

depends on what your time is worth to you.
they are used injectors, which makes them 1 step up from rebuilt.

you mean the o2 sensor can't get the ECU to reduce pulse lengths enough to run with a balanced AFR with those injectors? Or is it just too far off the maps for it to compensate..

It's all about the flow rate of the ve injector vs. the vg injector..Two different animals.

so there is absolutely no way the ECU can keep shortening the injection pulses until a reasonable AFR is achieved, even with the higher flow rate of the VE injectors? I mean, just cuz a Ferrari has 500hp, it can still go 5mph if you baby it. And you can use a dimmer switch on a 100W bulb and make it put out just 60W. So I would figure the ECU could compensate for a higher flow rate and just step it down until it's right. Of course if the max rate is too low, there's no way to make it higher (like, VG injectors in a Vq35...) because it's already at its max output.

there is a window in which the pulse can modulated based upon the fuel map.
if you really wanted to run the higher flow injectors on a lower requirement motor, you may be able to reduce the fuel pressure way down to get away with it, but my motor is worth too much to me to futz around with wrong parts.

that crossed my mind but i agree it's rather silly to do. Unless you have a seriously higher amount of o2 getting into your cylinders, whether by forced induction or nitrous, high flow injectors are a waste on a VG

VE and VQ30DE take the exact same injector
