Brake clearance question

I looked around on the stickies before posting, but I guess the stickies in this subforum havent been updated as of yet. All the links send me to random threads on the org.

CLIFFNOTES-

Car= A32

New Front Brakes= A33b

street wheels= will clear the new brakes

Sawblades (they have the slicks for the track)= Dunno if they'll fit

So my question, does anyone know if a 15" rim will fit over the A33b brakes?

Thank you!

Oh b00000!!! have you tried this yourself though (sorry I dont know what generation car you have)?

Because I know for a fact a 15" and (from what I recall) even 16" wont fit over A34 brakes, but those are real behemoths! A33b are smaller from my recollection (I wish the stickies were updated, feel like a n00b askin such a simple question lol)

I think the only diff between 4th gen rotor and 5th gen is the thickness of the rotor, its like a few mm difference. Personally i do not know if there is any more of a difference in the rotor itself. 16's will clear A33B brakes, but i dont think 15's will. I put my 97-99se 5spokes on my 2k2 temporarily and they fit but there wasnt much clearence, i dont think a 15" sawblade would clear.

From the FSMs...

95 front brakes are 11.02" in diameter, 0.87" thickness (260mm/22mm)
02 front brakes are 11.65" in diameter, 0.94" thickness (296mm/24mm)

Numbers can only say so much, this is a good pic comparing A33b brakes, against A33a, and A32 brakes (in that order from left to right)

I talked to E55AMG about them, as I remembered he used slicks with 15" wheels on his 2002. From what he tells me (paraphrasing here), he doubts very much that sawblades will clear over them, but the wheels he used were actually made for big brake kits. I forgot now which they are, but just knowing that there ARE 15" wheels that will clear the brakes was enough for me.

I'll ask him which wheels he used down the road once I want to go to the track again. Im goin this week, then I probably wont go again until next year. Until then I'll enjoy ubber brakes
