I am pretty sure there is no extra wiring involved, it just acts as a universal garage door opener and when power is sent to it (there are wires from the mirror for the vanity mirrors) it is able to work with any garage door. Their should be instructions on how to program it in the Owner's Manual. I will double check on it tonight tho, but I am 99% sure there is no extra wiring required.
