Mean Machine part II (audio+video)

I know, I know you guys have seen this car already, but I am done with the interior so here is the progress from last month. I got the car lowered on H'R springs in the front, and new oem shocks. Looks and rides nice I think. Handles pretty well too, or better I should say. Anyway, The interior took me about 3 full days to do, I mean 24 hours a day, so about 72 hours of work. Ripped everything apart, dynomated the car to hell and back. All doors, trunk lid, lic plate, whole trunk with wheel well, etc etc. Only parts I did not do is the roof, and the floor, since its getting colder and time budget. Did the swede A pillars custom mounted the fabulous SR6500 tweeters in there. The sub shown here is a JL 10w7, which is for sale, I will be putting in 2 8w7.s thats sound slightly better, or tighter, but at a cost to the bass output of course. Also gives me a heck of a lot more trunk space, and a place where I could mount the amps nicely, so the trunk is not done yet. Anyway I will let the pics do the talking. Let me know what you guys think!

how did you mount the tweeters? Is that a stock tweeter location that you used for them or did you just mount them on the pillars without holes or anything? I'm looking to put components in my 96' (no BOSE, so no tweeter locations). I'm wondering if I need BOSE A pillars with the tweeter locations or if I just just use my flat ones. Your car looks awesome btw, the only thing taking from the clean look is the huge box in the trunk!

yup stock location, just had to cut the hole bigger and than fill it, then cover with swede. Did at 3am in the morning can't remember the exact details. lol. The box in the trunk is temporary.

No you on the other hand can just put them in the door, I will see if I can dig up a pic on my old max I did. aha, here it is below with alpine type x tweeters in the door. What component setup are you thinking to go with? Since I have some brand new infiniti reference tweeters if you are interested, still in the box. I was going to go with all active components, then decided to get the SR6500 at the last minute that can do both.

350z track wheels, but people on here seem to dislike the color on them. I think I am the only guy with these wheels in that color.

Thanks. I'm trying to decide if I actually need me a pair.

How did you install those tweeters?? They look like they came with the car I actually have a set of Polk MOMO 6500 components and another set that I can't think of the name right now.. Audio Dynamics I think? idk... I think I'm gonna put them on the door.. if it's not too hard lol.

Just got an idea.. Is it possible to fit 6x9s in the stock speaker locations in the front doors? If I could run those and tweeters (or maybe and a set of components too) in the doors I think I'd be happy. My bro's SUV came with 6x9s in the doors as midbass drivers and they bump really good!

Thanks for the info!

i know. you gave me an idea though. i dont know if you have seen the white 4th gen in my pic. I would have to see it on your car, though. Not a lot of car color's can pull of bronze. I like them on blue, like the skyline, wrx, evo etc. White cars can pull of almost any wheel color. You got me on beige though. Do it

got both. sr for the front, diamond for the back. SR midbass all around though. You can see the SR crossovers next to the 500/1 with blue tape on them. and I said it before, and I will say it again, the trunk is not done yet due to me putting in different subs later on. They will mount towards the back, i will put them on a stand, an mount the amps underneath of them.

update: Put my subs in and re did the trunk, and made it look clean. Took out the rear speakers and crossovers, I found it a waste of good speakers, so I will fill it with some cheap speakers and sell of the sr6500 woofers and the diamond crossovers. Here is the end result. I got my trunk back well most of it...
