offset question
offset question
OK, I've read a bunch of posts and tech articles online regarding wheel offset, but I'm still a bit unclear on what it is exactly. Can anyone explain it to me - this wheel/tire thing is pretty new to me. Thanks in advance!
essentially, offset will determine how much the wheel sticks out.
higher offset (50mm) it will be far into the wheel wells
30mm offset on a maxima is flush with the front fenders.
It is calculated based on the width of the rim and how "deep" the hub part of the wheel is.
Our stock offset on the 17x7 wheels (5th gen) is about 42mm. Most people when they upgrade go to a 30mm or 35mm offset to make the wheels more flush with the fenders for a wider stance and looks.

A32 ands A33 chassis require that the rear offset be 10mm lower than the front in order to sit flush with the front.
