Wrecked my baby this week

Well guys I really did it bad this time. I was flying too fast on some back roads and brushed a curb, it put me slighly out of control and I hit a HUGE metal pipe sticking out of the ground then all hell broke loose and she spun around several times. All wheels but 1 are totally jacked, significant rear suspension damage, bumper toast and exhaust messed up, this one is gonna hurt. My insurance will be inspecting with the body shop tomorrow to get total damage figures. I'm cryin.

Sorry to hear about the accident. Glad to hear you're ok.

Just curious, how fast were you going?

Honestly I'm not sure. Probably too fast but it was around midnight, I was coming home and tired. Drivers side curtain airbag went off. All I got was a scrape on the knuckle and a cut & bruise on my left elbow. No other cars involved and nobody else hurt so that was good. Thanks for the props 04Max. Hopefully they'll get her fixed as good as new.

Most important thing is that you are OK, 3 weeks ago my car was hit by tractor trailer and I was surprised how well my Maxima hold it.

Sorry to hear about your loss, but glad no one was hurt. Just one quick question though, if the car ends up being totaled by the ins co., do you plan on parting it out?

If so, how many miles are on the engine?

Like many have said, more important is you're ok. I do believe (based on the pics) that your car is fixable......

Yes the vultures are out earlier than normal...circling. By the time you say "I got into a wre"...they are poking at your eyelids and the very item that keeps you moving forward (engine). Do like a friend of mine did when he got into a wreck-get a car cover and keep it on the downlow. Don't divulge locations and never utter the "T" word. Shhhh, I hear them

The worse thing is the obligatory "I'm glad you're alright". Yeah, they need you to be alright so you can sell them parts. I think we all can agree on a mandatory 48 hour *can't ask to buy parts* after a member in good standing gets into a wreck. BTW If "SICKSE" gets into a wreck I got dibs on the floor mats.

Moderators, please moderate the vultures.

Man I cant believe that happened. I think this is a warning for some of us maxes to slow down a bit (myself mainly). There was another maxima accident in FL. where 2 people died. Glad you're ok though and it look fixable to me as well.

Been there before, man. It sucks. I feel your pain just looking at your ride. Glad you are okay. Mine was all but totaled and still managed to be repaired. You'd never know now. Just make sure you get those Z wheels replaced so your car still looks sick!

been there crashed that.... blah, its a car. Your life is what matters. From that damage, im pretty sure your rear subframe and unibody is done. If they opt to fix that, i would be definately trading her in for a non wrecked one. No matter how advanced the repair technology is a car is never the same after something like that.

3 things can come of this.

1) they fix it
2) they scrap it
3) they fix it, you sell it, get a new one and were all happy.

Car is a car, Faaaak it! If i wrote off my maxima on the street or on the track, my next thought would be...... hmmmm............. CTS looks pretty tempting.

And to all those out there screaming "vultures!" I bet you all sit while peeing.

Go jam a 6 speed shifter up your A&$

Mack, at the end of the day.... its just a car man, your family can miss the car, but i bet they would miss you a whole lot more then some car. I for one am glad your ok, your car a sweet as it is, can ALLWAYS be replaced. You my friend cannot. Believe me I see this at work EVERYDAY......

All the best in whichever way you go with the repairs.

KAMSKI

I think I LoL'ed when I read it... It's kinda sad but it's true and funny...
If Mack's insurance decides to total it and he wants to part out his stuff, then he will post on the classifieds... until then, people (vultures) should keep their dibs out of other's threads.

+1...
The scar will always be there in your mind even if it's fixed and hence it will never drive like it used to...

Glad you're ok. Maybe you can get your insurance to get you 2 back rims the same size as your fronts?
