Hi guys,

I need to know if this will work in my Max, its for the b2 sensor. It's 3 wire, which is the same as the OEM wire.

Also, can someone point me to a guide for how to change it out? I have the socket already, just not sure how to identify which is the b2 sensor, and how to replace it.

Personally, I hate universals. The OEM style is a lot easier to work with, no splicing of wires involved.

I'm assuming you're referring to B2S1? IIRC, that should be the the left side sensor in the Y. Takes 10 or 15 to change out, most of that is just getting up in there.

 

Well, i'm assuming that it's b2s1...i interpret that as Bank 2 Sensor 1 (Is that correct?)

When I got it diagnosed, it says that "O2 sensor B1 is dead possibly setting codes"
However, since this one is under warranty, I am going back and getting it fixed. But they also mentioned that the other O2 sensor was only working intermittently, and should be replaced, which I'm assuming is the B2 sensor.

Which one would be the OEM style? I thought that this was it. it even says that you have to use the old connector.

I'm confused. What is the difference?

Nissan has a few bulletins out on the 02 sensor issue one of them being the wiring harness that crosses over the strut area may have a short or broken wire in it.

 

OEM style comes with connector, universals require you to work with the connector yourself (either soldering or properly wiring it).

 

Could someone point me to an OEM one then? How much will it cost me?

 

^^Just as he said. I'm currently running all 3 similar to the ones you are asking about and haven't had any problems with them. I guess it all comes down to you, it you want plug and play or you want to wire it yourself.

 

Sadly, I do not have a soldering iron yet...kinda tight on $

I would like to know where I can get OEM-style O2 sensors that are plug and play...and for a good price.

try courtesy nissan and you should be able to get a cheap soldering iron or gun for anywhere between $7-20 well worth the investment i dont have the address for courtesy but im sure someone on here does. i have to do my o2's soon so goodluck and let me know what way you go

I'm not sure it qualifies as "OEM", but I got one with the proper connector from oxygensensors.com. They were recommended in other threads. It was about $60.

 

You can't solder most o2 sensor wires anyways, I've seen some aftermarket ones that you can, but the oem ones are made of a special metal that solder will NEVER stick to.

Unfortunately, I don't need one now! It turns out that a missing intake vaccuum hose was broken or missing, causing the engine to throw the codes...
