What time's should I expect?

Alright after Christmas I will have:

Cattman Gen 1 Headers/Y-pipe
GAB
Megan Racing Test Pipe
Tsudo N-1 Catback
NWP Phenolic Spacers
Tuned SAFC-2

What times in the 1/4 should I be expecting with these, sorry for the noob question but I was just wondering what you guys thought...

Mid 4s at around 330 mph.

sexyleo is in the high 13s with headers, cat back and (I think) and intake. 6 speed should be half second quicker...maybe.

Assuming your car is making power as it should, and you can drive it properly, 13's should definately be possible. Although i remember your car was trapping low, despite a poor 60ft, your traps of 94MPH? with mods is low for a 5.5 6spd.

First off, toss that injunk intake..its a shame people pay good coin for the injen and usually after they realize how crappy it is for the 4-5th gen. the 6th gen design is alot better.

The average 2002-2003 6spd with those mods and a good driver is doing mid 13's. Actually if you cant break 13's with those mods you should be dissapointed and not spend 1 more dollar in mods till you either fix your car or fix the driver

Edit - ALSO add to your list a safc/vafc/EU/EB/SMT6/7 or some sort of tuning device, usually when you go with headers you will need to retune it to get the most out of them.

Thanks for the advice...but I would like to add that I think all cars trap low at the track I race at...I remember that a fellow Maxima owner on here only trapped 95mph in his 5.5gen with headers!!! But we'll see, I think the traction bars will really help get my times down. Also how much does it usually cost to tune an AFC?

Add the OSCAI too.

it all depends on how fast you learn. if you learn quickly, mid-high 13. if youre a little slow at learning, low 14. you SHOULD be able to pull a low 14 with one hand tied behind your back with those mods, but it does certainly take a bit of practice. get some weight reduction too, best mod i ever did

I doubt you will run a 13 right off the bat unless you've been to the track a few times with the car, just the nature of it but don't instantly think you won't ever achieve your goals. The first time I ever went to the track years ago in the S10 I had I could barely run a mid 16 in the low 80mph range when everyone was telling me 15's would be what to expect. The 2nd or 3rd time I went back with similar mods and just more experience driving the truck at the track I lowered the time into the 15.8 range at high 80's mph range.

I had gone to the track in my max a few months back with just a magnaflow muffler and no other preparation and ran consistent 15.0@95's so I expect to lower that substancially after I visit the track a few more times being more familiar with the car on the track.

o ran a 14.1@101 with a 2.8 60ft so it all depends on how you drive.

is your altitude?

This seems like a variation of this rule

Unless you have a slip, don’t post in here.

My first run in my Chevelle at the strip was a 16.96 @ 95 mph, followed by a 16.90 @ 96 mph. Learned quickly not to drive through the water with street tires. Nothing like a pegleg rearend spinning the right rear all the way through 1st gear. Took me 4 trips to the strip (plus ladder bars) to get into the 14s.

First few times out, your trap speed will tell you more about your car. You should be trapping pretty close to 100 mph.

I think it's a pretty relative thread to find out what times I should expect to run and if you have nothing to contribute but whining about why you don't like my thread then get out!!!

For all of your information I have ran down the 1/4 and 1/8 and have posted in here before...I guarenfreakintee you that if I posted this in the 5th gen forum they would have said "post in the 1/8, 1/4 forum. I'm asking what you think I would run in the 1/4 and this is a 1/4 mile forum soooo

Also not downing these threads because they are relative to this forum but what about:

"how bad is power shifting a MT?"
"run into any unusual 1/4 mile vehicles"

like I said if you don't like my thread and have nothing to contribute then feel free to see your way out the door...

Have a mod/admin move it to the weekend battle forum. It has no place here. Stop your whining, get to the track, and post a slip, until then, I will continue to do as I please, whether it b ***** your thread, or someone else's with said 'non contributive' info.

I don't have a slip, nor do I post slip less thread in this particular sub-forum. Go ahead and ***** my threads. They are few and very far between because, I search before I post a thread.

My last thread was pretty damn good too, here you go, ***** on:
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=390691

I'm sure you can find an old thread where I was a , but since then, I have learned to search prior to posting. I don’t care if I have more posts than the next guy, I’ve been here for a while, who cares? I help when I can where I can, and have fun in between those times in the same manner, when and where I can, and that’s what I’m doing here. Oh yeah, teh intraw3bz is serious bidnezz!

I've never really been a fan of this kind of thread but do think this would've been the place to make it if I was to make stupid threads. I've always been more of a go find out myself kinda guy. Then when you post your times people always let you know where and how inprovements can be made

Seems like a viable concept

When one asks what their time will be i.e. when one of 'these' threads come up, it is horrifically difficult to provide an accurate estimation. There are far too many factors that affect the time, I wont go through them, but those who know, well, you know.

+1,I remember when I first installed my 50 shot I tested on the streets and figured I would be able to cut at least .5 off my 1/4 time but only shaved .1 because I needed so much practice launching. Here everybody's saying he should get into the 13's but will probly just end up being dissapionted when he gets a 14.5-15. Making a car fast isn't hard but learning to launch it at a track is so a 1/4 mile time could range a full second depending on driver

Trap speed typically reveals a little bit more about the car's potential rather than the driver.

Maybe you can substitute potential with powerband.

been there done that, without a 50 shot so i cant even imagine how annoying that would be with a 50 shot.

on a side note, i think we need a bench racing forum like my350z.com has. would be pretty usefull place to ignore and keep the 1/4 forum clutter free
