How do you prevent rust on rotors?

I just replaced all of my rotors and only 3 weeks later I noticed that there is some considerable rust beginning to form. Is there an easy way to keep the rotors rust free? Granted they aren't the nicest rotors (standard ones from Advance Auto) but I was shocked to see rust forming so soon. I'd appreciate any and all feedback. Thanks in advance!

I live in the desert, and we still get rust on our rotors here... So If there is a cure, I'm not aware of it...

Just paint them about all you can do. But that doesnt prevent it just prevents it from hapening sooner.

well you could brush them off with the power tool brush, spray paint them black(3 layers) and then clear coat(2 layers) and i think you should be good.I did that.

Not really, I picked some up a set for like 120 or something like that. But rust doesn't really kill anything.
I case you're wondering I got mine from these guys:

Mine were X drilled, slotted though.

Don't put them on your car or you could leave your car in the garage and never drive in any precipitation.

rust will always form on the parts of the rotor where the pads meet the metal ... for everything else, like others suggested here: paint it with high-temp caliper paint (from autozone or other auto part store) or just pick up zinc/whatever-plated rotors.

drive your car and press the brakes, if your rotors are fairly even and have been turned recently it will remove all the rust!!!

Get Extreme Stop rotors... a few of my friends have them for over 6 months now, and no rust...
