Interior Color Change Estimate?

I know a few of you guys here have changed over your tan interiors to black leather so im curious, just how much did u spend? The seats wont matter because im going through leatherseats.com to get custom dual tone seats. But the dash, carpet, door panels and headliner is what has me worried.

Basically im repainting the car to a pearlescent silver with like 3-4 clearcoats (yeh should be real nice) in the spring so i wanna convert to black leather interior to match better. Then i'll probably throw on a CF hood and spoilerto offset the silver.

Do yourself a favor and find one in the scrapyard to pull all the necessary parts out of. Or, like I did, find a wrecked one yourself, use what you need, sell the rest. Lots more to an interior color change than seats, door trim panels and dash. Along with the carpet and headliner come every sort of trim peice imaginable. If you're not careful, you will be chasing the little parts forever.

So to answer your question, I bought a rear ended 97 I30 black/black with no engine/tranny for $1200.

Now hold on, I know that's a lot but don't get ahead of me.

I used the entire front clip to fix another wreck, the sunroof assembly to fix a second car, then the perfect 125K black leather interior for my car. Still have lot of parts left over, plus the shell for the crusher which is worth $100 easy.

I started myy swap about a year ago...and I am finally about a week away from finishing it up....buying random pieces here on the org....and at the junkyards. Total with Leather seats and all I will say I have spent about $350 to $400. Well worth it...compared to riding around in that "Dooky Brown" interior.

I have to agree, unless you buy a wrecked car or get it all at once, you will be chasing down little trim pieces forever. I had to pull my carpet out a few months ago thats to a super duper sunroof leak and really got a better understanding of all needed for a swap as I am planning one myself soon. If you just dive into it and start taking stuff out without double-checking, I guarantee you will be riding around with a some tan trim pieces that you didn't think about.
