FS NJ 97 BMW M3 4dr 5spd Cosmos Black on Dove Leather

CAR IS SOLD

Note: this is 1 of 8444 M3 Sedans, 4000 of which are manuals.

This is kind of a feeler, but I have been considering selling my beloved M3 for a while now. Here are the details , any questions feel free to ask, I have nothing to hide. Car is located in Little Ferry NJ.

1997 BMW M3 4 dr 106k miles Cosmos Black with Dove interior , Sport PKG, w/ sunroof
No heated seats, No power seats.

CAR IS SOLD. HRE WHEELS ARE AVAILABLE 17X9 ET20 $1550 PICK EM UP AT MY HOUSE

I have the service records showing this car's life being maintained and serviced at the BMW dealer in Houston TX (Momentum BMW), up until around 70k miles. I purchased the car from a private party near my town for $14500 about a year ago, the car has been pretty much trouble free for me - I replaced the fan housing and the cooling system hoses, when the fan shroud broke and caused a radiator hose to leak coolant. The car never overheated or went optimal running temperature.

I have taken great care of this car and have always changed the oil every 5k miles with Mobil 1 15w50 in the warmer climates and 5w40 in the winter.

It is pretty much stock, with the exception of TCKline S/A coilover suspension with Buna RSM's . The springrates I opted for are 400/500lb and the car drives and rides awesome.

All electronics work, A/C works flawlessly and blows ice cold, radio functions as it should (although it does have a very weak AM reception and the stereo is in desperate need of an upgrade).

The car also has a Prolumen 4100K HID kit installed in stock NFL halogen housings.

For the full sale price I would be including the 17 x 9HRE 525 3piece wheels worth almost 2 grand with tires. The tires are Fuzion ZRI 215/40/17 , they are a mild stretch on the 9 inch wide wheel, and look awesome on the E36 body. I also have the stock DSII's in good condition along with BRAND NEW General Exclaim UHP 225/45/17's ready to be mounted and balanced on the DSII's.

EVERYTHING BAD I KNOW ABOUT THIS CAR:

The CEL recently came on, after running the codes, the Cayalytic converter may need to be replaced, but the shop said it could very easily be an O2 sensor gone bad.

A friend of mine took too long to remove his crap from my garage causing my car to have to sit outside in the winter - there are some light marks on the hood that look to have been caused by falling branches - they are not dents and I think they could be buffed out. I will provide a picture of this upon request or as soon as tomorrow when I take better pictures of the car.

I had the rear fenders shaved to help accommodate the aggressive offset wheel I am running. This does not affect anything, but I figure I should disclose it anyway.

The car looks immaculate from 10 feet away, but up close there are a few minor imperfections on the paint, after all - the car is 11 years old.

I may have missed some details - but feel free to call me at TWO ZERO ONE 914 5033 to discuss the car. d(NOSPAM)wilinsky@gmail.com is my email addy, and HPINTROMNI is my AIM s/n.

I am not really interested in trades at the moment, but would consider a 993 Porsche 911 or Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution - that said , I have the title in hand ready to be signed over.

Car is dirty with the HRE's (which are also dirty).

It wont do much racing with the current setup - I need to flare the fenders, it will rub on a hard corner or a launch , silly offset. Hows Mercedes goin? - it must be a kick-*** place to work!

Thanks for the comments everyone - I hate to see it go , but I wanna get something different in the spring.

After doing much research on early 90's 911's (964)'s and 993's - It would put a dent in my savings if there was a catastrophic engine failure, which would make it a financially irresponsible purchase. That hasnt stopped me before , but I think I should grow up and not be car-poor at this point. I am looking at purchasing an Evo 8.

Evo 8? Dood you'd be better off with the 993 and a bad engine.
stay away from a Mitsu!!

Mitsu = POS. But the Evo is a solid car with a stout drivetrain, theres a guy on evom.net with 170k miles still going strong; as long as you're not doing 7k RPM launches at every light I would imagine the car would wear like any other car. But I agree with you about Mitsu in general, dealers SUCK and cars (minus evo) suck - you have to admit the Evo 8 is an awesome performing car.

Im not too fond of the EVO X , perhaps it will grow on me over time - but I hear horrible things about Mitsubishi dealerships, and would not want to have to fight tooth and nail to get a warranty claim out of a car just because I installed after market coilovers.

An aquaintance of mine works at Mercedes in Montvale in the 2nd tier customer service dept. He leases a ML 320 CDI through the company for some absurd awesome deal. IIRC all Mercedes employees can get killer lease deals with insurance paid for all non AMG models. CLS550 do it!
