F/S 1998 SE 5 speed

I will be putting my Max up for sale shortly for anyone in the DFW area.

Color: Sterling Silver
Interior: Black Leather
Miles: about 152,000
Damage: minor front end damage from collision, repaired in 2003. 3k worth.
Mods: only a Adco rear sway bar and a Courtesy Nissan FTSB.

Has been run only with synthetic oil since I purchased it in 2000.
Mostly highway miles
Garage Kept

Major Options: Bose Stereo, Climate control, sunroof, power seats.

Condition:
Body is generally in good shape with a few door dings in each door.
Paint is glossy
Interior is in great shape with only some minor cracking of the plastic piece on the drivers leg bolster and a few tiny nicks here and there. Carpet looks good.
Trunk mat suffers from an oil spill stain but all hardware is intact.

Known problems:
Intermittent left rear door actuator
Alarm has been intermittently triggering, looking into it now.
some burned out interior bulbs and fog light bulbs.
Occasional front end noise, sounds like tie-rod end.

The car has not been raced, other than the way I drive LOL.
It has been basic transportation and as such has been amazingly reliable.

It has brand new H rated grandma tires that would make a nice winter set.
Still has the factory aluminum rims.

title is clean and clear

The engine is strong and the trans works well.
Recent maintenance has included: New clutch, plate, master and slave.
Struts, brakes and trans fluid, Half-shafts were replaced about 5 years ago because of torn boots.

The car is ripe for tuning or basic transportation.

Will post pics before the end of the week. Most paperwork available

I will be listing the car for around $5,000

I am replacing the car with a 2008 TL-S, so that is why I will selling it.

Yeah, have you ever had any bodywork done lately? A door ding or scratch can be hundreds.

The grill and hood contacted a spare tire, so.....

The 3k included: a new hood, A/C condensor, new headlights(the grill mounts on the headlights broke), grill piece and paint/labor. It was pretty close to 3k, at least $2500 but I forgot the exact number. It would have been a lot more if the fenders, bumper or structure had been damaged. Not much I could do about the price, it was covered by insurance and I was required to use their choice of shops. All I cared about was the car being fixed right to be honest. :P

I called it "minor" because the unibody/structure was not damaged. I looked at the results of the most recent "parking lot damage" tests that was done and it seems that some of these "5 mph" impacts resulted in expenses up to $4500, even on the new Maxima!
And the damage was mostly cosmetic, bumper shell, paint and plastic parts. I guess I am in the wrong line of work! LOL

Here is a quote from a report on the 2007 IIHS tests.

"After a series of low-speed crash tests, the IIHS released cost estimates for the kind of accident that can happen in commuting traffic or the grocery store parking lot where cars travel roughly 6 miles per hour."

"Four test vehicles received more that $4,000 in damages from the low-speed front-end collision. The Volkswagen Passat was the most expensive to repair at $4,594, followed by the Pontiac G6 which cost $4,588. The Nissan Maxima had a $4,535 repair bill and the Hyundai Sonata sustained $4,312 in damages."
