"bees in a can" sound...stock y-pipe?
lately i've beeno noticingthe sound more and more...it sounds like bees in a can, my mufflerright now isreally loud, couldhte muffler have loosened some parts to make this sound? i think it may be coming from my y-pipe (stock) but i cannot be sure. any ideas?
I had that same sound. The problem was that the heat sheild around the Y pipe had a weld come loose. I solved the problem by taking two large worm gear hose clamps (like the ones you would use for your radiator hoses) and using them to "clamp" the heat shield on. Very rigged, but it did get rid of the noise. You could check for these welds and take it to an exhaust shop to have them put a few more spot welds on. The shop would probably charge ~$20 or so.
Good luck,
Good luck,
Yea it could be the heat shielding. Though you could just take it off.
