Is Brake Pad Material Porous?

Hey-

Just wondering if brake pads are absorbant or porous? I'm wondering because both my calipers have bad seals and the pads have had some brake fluid come in contact with them. A few drops also got on the brake pad surface when I was removing the line / caliper earlier.

I'm assuming there is nothing wrong with them that a good cleaning won't solve, but I never like to take chances when it comes to brakes.

(I have Hawk HPS ferrocarbon pads.)

A few drops of fluid isn't going to hurt them. If they were soaking in fluid for a while, I'd consider replacing them.
