rx7 wheel spacer for rear?

I finally got my 2nd pair of rx7 FD wheels and I was wondering what size spacer do I need 5mm or 10mm for them to clear the hub in the back (or whatever they supposedly conflict with on a 4th gen).

also...man 245/45/16's do not yield many tire results...but thats the tire size i need.

Just for everyone's info, what happens is you run into the end of the lugnut (since they are closed) before the wheel is fully tightened although it will feel tight. The rotors sort of "float" and make awful noises without the spacers. The wheel bolts up but it is more about securing the rotor.

For 5mm studs are not required. Anything bigger (although I have heard of 7mm being used with stock studs) and you need the spacers with studs in them or bang out the stock studs to swap with longer ones.

I could do them for like $30+ couple bucks for shipping, I will post pics in this thread in a few minutes.

I had them on for maybe 50-60 miles, I ended up getting an offer on the RX7s and moved to a different set of wheels. They are one of my favorites on the 4th gen though, real nice OEM+ look.

The 13.8 lb wheels are not as structurally reinforced. I will get you a bit more info, it's not a huge deal though but if you have two brits I would put those in back.

Try for 245/50s, unless you are excessively low.

thats what i have on there and they have just too tall of a sidewall. i think it makes the ride excessively bouncy.

I'm riding on 245/50s and it rides fine. Then again I am only on Eibach/full stiff Konis, if you are on COs with 100000lbs/inch springs then the tires will be a bit "bouncy." You could always get a tire with a stiff sidewall... what are you running right now?

yes i have ksports on there. And the rear is still my normal 245/45/17's so that might make some weird ride quality issues right there since its stiffer in the back and what not. i currently have some 245/50's on the front (soon to be on the back) but they are like Road Hugger brand (cheapest tires the previous owner could buy)....but damn they have a terrific wear rate

isnt it as simple as using open ended lug nuts?

im using open ended lug nuts because with the closed end, my center caps wont fit due to the closed ended part. works fine for me.

I haven't but it would make sense, I know it wasn't an option for me because I wanted to run more than 225s and they didn't have a ton of suspension clearance as is. You can certainly mock up and take measurements.

too cold outside to mess with it. I can use the spacers for the front surely if I dont need them on the rear. plus...it couldnt kill to bring the rears out a little bit anyway.

No, they look way better stock.

Those wheels would look great with 20mm spacers or so. Too bad mine are still wider.

as long as you run a quality spacer and don't go over an inch you should be ok. that is a fat nasty tire.
