Got rear Addoco sway bar need brackets
Got rear Addoco sway bar need brackets
So i bought a rear sway bar of my friend Eric. Only thing is its missing the one bracket c clamped piece that goes on the bushing on the side. Anyone know where I can find one? Tryed summit racing, ebay, even addoco's website and came up with nothing

Call addco and tell her you purchased the bar used from someone else and are missing the installation brackets. ask if they can sell you the needed parts to get you up and running.

Edited to show the PROPER way to do things. I hate it when shady people try to pull that ish on me.
You worry about your own proper behavior!
wow, what a **** to try and scam a company. If you never had the parts, buy the parts. I just got a free addco sway bar and I just bought the kit. Don't be a **** and try to scam a company of parts that you never had in the first place.

Why? His behavior was proper and you posted this in an open forum, so it is fair game for comments, within forum rules. The point is that the replacement part guarantee is meant for when a part is damaged, not when it is missing. If it is missing, explain it to them and if they want to give you a part for free, then awesome, if not, it should be purchased.

I got POed because how can Matt93SE compare his fledgling business with a gigantic corp? And also he never talked to them so what good is his opinion in the first place?
How do you know I never talked to Addco personally? I've dealt with them several times in the last 10 years for various vehicles. My opinion is just as good as the next guy's. You don't know me anymore than anyone else you'd bump into on the the street, so keep your comments about me and my business and my validity to yourself.
What you suggested is immoral and dishonest and I have a MAJOR problem with that. As a person that owns a business selling aftermarket car parts (note the similarity there between BlehmCo and Addco? I'm comparing myself to them AS A LEGITIMATE BUSINESSMAN. My annual sales are no reflection of who I am or what I do. I choose to keep BlehmCo small so that I can manage it myself and not have to deal with training employees and trying to get people to take my business and name as serious as I do. Had I wanted to grow more, I'd have done a lot more and would be making considerably more money than I am now. but that's beside the point....)
I care about my customers and I care about my products. Had a part of one of my brake kits or lower tie bars rusted and fallen apart when it wasn't an obvious case of abuse, then I would replace it- and have in those few instances.
But for someone to buy a part used from someone else and only get half of it, why should I have to come out of my pocket and ship you installation parts because someone else didn't bother to put them in the box when they sold you the used part?
The issue isn't whether the WOULD send the parts for free, it's the point that you told the person to lie and claim a defect when there wasn't one in order to get free stuff. that's wrong. Now if you told him to call and say "Hey, I just bought this bar used and it's missing a bracket, what can I do to get the parts I need?" Then I would have been completely happy with that and in fact echo the same sentiment.
IF the company is nice enough to ship them to the guy for free, then GREAT! BUT don't just lie to someone to try to save $10. It's all about moral character here. Obviously yours are different than mine.

Who do you think you are?
I've accomplished more in my life than you could only dream about, you're out of your league young man
Criticize me in 30 years and then we'll see if you make it to the major leagues
Actually this argument is rediculous.
As I said previously don't tell me what to do and keep your opinions about my morality to yourself!

Man you must like the sound of your own voice. Sounds like our young age is the only thing not clouding our reasoning and making us sound like an old tool.
Hmm funny. accomplished nothing at my young age, eh?
I guess owning a business, my own house, four cars, and nearly running an engineering office of 10 people after only being in the company 2 years means nothing? Not to mention my net worth of about a 1/2 million. and I'm not even 30 yet.
I can also sleep well at night knowing I've never screwed anyone out of their own money free by misrepresenting myself and lying to them.
If that's what it takes you to get ahead in the world, I truly feel sorry for the people in your life you deal with every day. The last guy in our office that pulled stuff like that, I fired.
Enjoy your vacation.

ok no one is selling the whole kit called addoco and they said the dont know about any c brackets only brackets they sell is W brackets what are the brackets called?
the exact terminology of the bracket doesn't really matter. simply tell them you're missing the mounting brackets for a Maxima RSB and they should be able to figure out what you need. If not, ask to talk to someone else since they're not smart enough to look at a parts diagram and figure out what a mounting bracket is.
