I remember years ago about '92 when i got my first car there was a company that offered something like these. Only i dont remember who they were. This company is in CHINA, has anyone seen anthing like this here in the states??Wheel Covers - Non Woven Wheel Covers And Plastic Wheel Lip Protectors
Non woven wheel covers and plastic wheel lip protectors. It is suitable for the wheel size 13" to size 24".

I'd rather try to trip a steamroller than put them on my wheels.

is it because you are going to store you rims or use them as a "protective" cover during transport?

They are clear strips that you put around the edge of your rims to protect them in case you scrape the curb when parking. Not that i plan on scrapeing when i get my new wheels!

I'm sure that clear strip is going to hold up well against concrete.

Well they had a litttle thickness to them, not enough to be rediculous. But they could save your wheels at least that one time you might need them. Back in the day i remember they actually came i colors! Chernmax would have loved the red ones!!!

Anyone who lives in a city or anywhere where its imperative for them to parallel park needs these.

Damn..i saw this up again and i went..i thought this was dead. But anyway it would prop work for some protection at least once. But i do find myself parking a bit further from the curbs. Paralell parking sucks when you have wheels on your ride.. And im damn good parking.
