Goodyear/Narrow? All Season

Need some expert advise...I've already read through prior posts but didn't see this ? asked. We all know the stock Potenzas 225/50/17 are a joke for us all season drivers. On my 95 MaxSE 15inch rims, I had G.Year Eagle RS-A's which I recall being awesome, especially in the snow. G.Year doesn't make the RS-A in 225/50/17 but they do make it in 215/50/17. The 215 is 1/3' narrower. The guys at G.Year have almost convinced me this isn't an issue. What do you think? Will this mess up the speed & handling?

i'm sure it won't handle as good because it is a narrower tire...it will be perfectly safe though but the speedometer will be offset probably by 2mph or less at speeds around 70mph

i realize that you have tried this tire and like it, but i'm sure there are tons of other snow tires that fit our application size or you could even go w/ a 235/45 17 and it will handle slightly better because of the bigger contact patch
