My SSIM & Polished 3.5 Manifold-56K warning

Today, I got the SSIM & Polish for my manifold by Kevin at Goodwin Motorsports. I included some pictures and they look twice as good in person.

The install went smoothly and did not take very long. I took the car for a spin afterwards and I felt a noticeable difference on the highway. It just kept pulling and pulling after 3rd gear and the sound was gorgeous. I think I scared an Audi A4 when I went around him since he was going to slow in the fast lane. His facial expression was priceless!! I didn't really notice any change in the low and mid range power so that was good since supposedly you lose some of that power.

I am really happy with the result and the difference it made. If you can get this done, I recommend Kevin.

How does it look?

Here is his thread to get this done:

it looks great.. thats good that you can feel it more in the top end without any losses anywhere else.. what's the warning you talked about in the title? i was expecting something bad about the results

I live like 25 mins. away from Kevin so I just showed up and he had one already polished and ready to go and just swapped it out.

lol, nothing bad just a warning for the large size of the pictures so anybody with dial-up might have issues looking at them.

Looks great. Gives me a reason to get started on my spare IM. I'll do it myself and I hope it comes out looking that good.

I just modified it to get more airflow into the intake...

I also have another custom duct coming from the bottom of the heat shield to the top and also adding air to the intake...

I know this thread is really old but damn looks good and did you have the extended Rev Limiter or no since some say only do it if you have the Rev Limit Extended..

I don't have the extended rev limiter...find I don't really need it!

Very happy with this setup after about 3 years! Still as shiny as ever!

It does. And I'm glad this thread was noobie-bumped, because that photo is pretty cool. Maybe it's a perspective trick, but that pop-charger is freaking huge.

OP, since this has been resurrected, and you're here in this thread again... if you haven't already, give some consideration to tucking your EVAP Solenoid. It will show-off your gorgeous UIM better.

OP, is that a custom VIAS-delete BOP made from the OEM plate without the valve?

Pretty UIM, to be sure. But why is that little vacuum hose still connected? You deleted the VIAS.

Details > Bling. If you can do both, then you've got a winner.

So everything functions as it's supposed to.

Mine is still there too, heck mine even has the actuator still attached too, and it actually still 'actuates', but the valve is completely removed/shaved.

Yep, bringing life to an old thread...

Thanks Joel! No recent dynos...been busy at work this past year...nothing new performance wise...just new tires last month...

I'm in it for the long haul with this car...only have 79k and want to keep this car for a while! Love my manual transmission and Nissan doesn't want to add another (manual tranny) one to the new Maxima's...

I remember this. It still looks good. If anyone needs a spare IM to do this, i've got an extra one laying around.

Manny, there's nothing to function. The valve is gone. Kaput. Adios. Sure, the solenoid will open and close, and it has to be there to avoid codes, but the vacuum tank and all the vacuum lines are entirely pointless.

Saying so just in case someone reads this who doesn't get it. Otherwise, I don't intend to derail this old thread... because the OP's UIM truly is gorgeous, and deserves respect for what was done.

Kevin gutted and port-matched mine back in the day as well. He did a good job, although I never had him polish it.

I forgot about your engine bay OP. It looks incredible.
