Hi there all.

I would like to hear from people with a 3rd gen maxima
who have coilovers fitted and drive their car on a daily basis
with say 18X8 inch rims as this is only way I can get a set of 18X8 rims
onto my car (Australia)

I have searched around and that a K brand seems to be a no-no..
So, I am hoping to hear what is good and is available now as I would
have to have these shipped OS..

Actually there's three 3 gens that I know of with coilvoers, but only one actually driven on the road. one car is still in the garage waiting on engine build and other things, the other is a POS that ghettofied the installation and got smart and went back to stock.

none of them recommend coilovers for daily drivers though.

That said, you can easily fit 18x8 wheels with the proper offset. I've run 17x8 with anywhere from +25 to +35mm offsets. Tires are anything from 225/50/17 to 255/45/17.

with the lower offset stuff and wide tires, you'll have to roll the rear fenders, but mine run with no problems and you can't tell they're rolled without sticking your hand under there and feeling.

 

make some. or since you are in aussie land try different suspensions from other cars from nissan. it wouldn't make sensthat this is the only platform that doesn't share suspension parts with other cars. q45's have coilovers as do 240sx's i think mixing and matching of these 2 cars my yield something. like 240sx fronts and q45 rears. plus all the other options too, skylines, or othe models not sold here in the states.

 

Try doing a bit of research next time before you start talking like that. been there, done that. Think about the Qs rear suspension and then think about the Maxima's. completely different stuff, not to mention the Max is FWD vs. the Qs RWD setup. not even the same layout on the suspension components.
