Heated cloth seat & steering tempature?

I have a 2003 Maxima TE 6 speed with CLOTH and heated seat, steering wheel, and mirrors.

My question how hot are the seats suppose to get? Mine takes a while to warm up but never really get hot enough to were it is uncomfortable and I have to turn off. I use is the high setting all the time. Then get warm, then cool off, then gets warm, then cool off. On the other hand the steering gets so hot you can barely hold on to the steering wheel. It gets to full temp. in about 3 minutes.

The seats are supposed to turn on and off when they get to a certain temperature, Its a safety Feature with the seats, On the other hand I don't know about the steering wheel cause I dont have a heated wheel :-(

The steering wheel is supposed to work the same as the seats. In my car I can hear the relay click on and off in the dash for the steering wheel. Mine never gets too hot that i cant touch it. Maybe your relay is stuck on or something.

Mine is the same way.The steering wheel gets pretty warm while the seats seem to not get quite as hot maybe cuz your bare hands are touching the wheel and your bare *** doesnt touch the seats...lol...atleast mine doesnt..lol......

my wheel warms up SUPER hot and turns off. and... pretty much stays off
It's 'bareable' but it can get hard to handle.

My leather heated seats do the same. I throw it on the high setting if it's pretty cold. Manchester, TN weather hasn't hit single digits, but it's been 30ish in the mornings consistently. It warms up enough where if the outside temp is >50ish you'll turn it off pretty quickly after reaching operating temperature regardless of relay haha.

I keep the digi climate control on 71*

My steer wheel gets super hot then it clicks off I can hear the relay click and the lighted switch goes out.

I rode in my buddy Lexus RX300 and the seats get super hot and you almost have to turn them off because it get uncomfortable.

my steering wheel gets nice and toasty, sometimes I turn it off manually. The seats also get very warm that I have to turn them off or put them into low setting.

I think it just depends on the person. What you may think is too hot someone else may not. Personally my seats and steering wheel get nice and toasty, just the way i like it.

Nissan/Infiniti heated seats are among the worst in the auto industry. I've owned several cars with heated seats and been in many other cars with heated seats that were owned by friends or family and the Nissan/Infiniti heated seats were always the worst. They heat up really slow and don't get very warm at all compared to competitors.

And I hate the fact that they won't even start to heat up unless you are sitting in them so no matter what you always have to sit in a cold seat at least for a few minutes. I never even bother to turn mine on. It's really my only complaint about my 5.5 gen.

I agree with Maxnout...think its the bare skin on leather......wheel on my '03 SE gets very toasty, at first almost startles you but thats because your hands are exposed and an extremity.....the other end is covered and close to the core of your body so less sensitive. As for seats, would be nice if they were more noticeably warm, but then who wants to get the sweats on their way to work!
Cheers

Both my '03 SE and girlfriend's '02 GLE have the heated wheel. Before she bought the GLE I even brought my SE in for warrantee work because I thought there was something wrong with the temperature setting for the wheel.

Yes, it starts blazing hot then dials back (the switch light stays on for I forget how many minutes), then heats hot again and swings back and forth until the switch times out. My girlfriend's GLE works exactly the same way so I assume it's just not a great control design.

heated steering wheel?...damn...i thought the heated seats in my moms '06 Pathfinder were nice....unfortunately my max has neither...i know for a fact that the new heated seats in Nissans have a sensor that does not allow them to go over a certain temperature, i imagine thats the same case in the older models
