Problem driving on the highway today

Hey guys
I was driving on the highway today doing about 135km/h and the revs were at around 3000rpm. All of a sudden it felt like i took my foot off the gas. The car started slowing down. I tried giving it more gas but there was no response. The engine didnt even rev. And then there were three "pop" sounds from the exhuaust and it started accelerating again. could it be a tps issue? I havent had a chance to pull codes yet but i wanted to see if anyone has any input.

thanks

Sounds like you briefly lost ignition. When it fired back up, the pops you heard was most likely the unburnt fuel igniting in the exhaust system. Check for codes, your looking for crank shaft position sensor error codes. There are two of them, they control ignition and timing.
