if it's like the car i was working on last week (not a maxima) it's just a real tight fit once unbolted. use some pb blaster and just work on it, beat on it, tug on it until it budges. maybe a hammer to the alty-side of the belt tension adjuster?

um think i found a write up for a gxe, or both
http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php/501

is that my a/c compressor thats attatched to the alternator?? EDIT: nevermind, haha, the alternator is UNDER that, which i believe is the a/c compressor, i gotta jack it up and look underneath to see more
but doesnt seem like it will be to hard..
but i thought it was gonna be easier, i dont think i got enough time left today

you might have to use a crowbar because it is a tight fit at the top

Two bolts hold it to a frame that is bolted to the head. The same frame also holds the AC compressor.

remove - on battery, remove all electrical connections on alty, loosen tensioner, remove belt, remove the two bolts holding it (it should start swinging freely once you begin to loosen them), then just pull it down.

As said, batt cable out first. For me the cables are easier to disconnect once alt is down. Use WD-40 liberally... Then check also ALL the wiring connectors, gnd...

Heres some info for the Hitachi LR190-737
