Just a little more info I just bought the car and it seems the previous owner did not take any car of the outside. I waxed it once and it still looks dull. And I only plan on having the car for around two years if it last that long.

Sounds like you'd benefit more from a polish that can cut down on oxidation (the dullness you're seeing). Browse around http://autopia.org/forum/ and you'll find all kinds of great suggestions on polishes. You could even post a pic or two of your car and someone there will tell you what to do.
unless you do all the prep work yourself maaco results in PERMANENT damage to you car... overspray on rubber trim, everywhere...
I would say try anything but maaco or any cheap paint places... YGWYP4
pictures might help too to show us what kind of damage there is

MAACO is good only if you take everything off the car. I had them spray a vw beetle and thats how I took it in... I even slightly unbolted the fenders. Towed it in and let them go at it...It was a 500.00 paint job that took them four tries to get right. Now with that said that paint job has last almost 10 years.....(but the did shoot it four times)
Please do not go to MAACO. Got into a car accident 3 years ago (someone turned into my car and hit my passenger side door). Went to maaco for a repaint, insurance paid for it, and they colored it straight up silver and said that's what the code said it was.
lol
Eventually I got it repainted for free. Who the hell messes up on paint codes at a paint shop. Wow? Drove around for 4 days with a silver door on my car. My car may look silver but it's not silver. It's fawkin' sterling mist! ***** of a paint stood out like white paint on a black car.

It's all in what the car is worth to you. I would not suggest MAACO personally, but considering the book value on a 98 maxima, it doesn't make sense to spend thousands on a quality paint job unless you plan to keep that car for years to come. Depending on what it looks like, a good detail may be all you need. It's it's like three different colors and you don't have much for money, Maaco may be the way to go. Every situation is different.
