Do you need the updated MAF software? The software is typically a general thing () meaning there is not 1 single software update [per problem, more like the 'latest' version, which includes most if not all of the required updates that your car needs.

Well I read that there is a hesitation tsb which I feel that I am suffering from, and at that I might as well get the maf upgrade software while im there, if that is 1 single update thats fine but if its 2 different updates then why not do it since already there, and I want to get my timing advanced, im just wondering what else have people done over the past 6 years that this car has been out

I though the dealerships won't bump the timing and you have to bribe a tech to do it.

Please share exactly how much advance timing is recommended and what are the expected results on performance and fuel economy?

Are you serious? Should I have to search when I am simply asking an individual what he expects out of a timing degree adjustment? I think not.

What's with the miro-management of this thread? As a suggestion, you could just respond with a direct link to whatever specific information you might be referring to.

I can't believe you are trying to challenge if technology sharing about the who's sake it is for versus discussion of particulars individual circumstances. I'd like you to quote the forum policy or rule that governs your position or does not allow discussion between two members and other to know information relating to unique specifications and expected outcomes on any subject that may already be available in past discussion since
2001. I appreciate hotstartup doing what is helpful by providing additional information for consideration. Since it didn't really answer my original question to the particular member, my question still remains unanswered...ok.

The rule (which is the first rule on the list...that's how basic/important it is): " * Before asking a question, please review the sticky threads, and FAQʼs." http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=184687

The answer in the FAQ had you FOLLOWED THE RULE instead of hijacking a thread to ask a FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION:
http://forums.maxima..org/showpost.p...&postcount=123

Thank you. Come again.

i read the past threads about this and instead of bumping an old thread i thought it would be best to ask my question here. the stealership has the right to refuse advancing ones timing, am i correct? Sooner, since you seem to know a lot about this, would you recommend doing this at the stealership? or could i go to a regular mechanic shop

Find someone w/ an AE or Cipher and have them do it. I had my dealer do it for like 80$. There are at least 2 dozen threads on this, so it seems like most dealerships are case specific, some guys had it done for free, some for 20$, some for 40$ etc. .

I agree....this topic should be dropped. But not just to have the last word, it should end only if information sharing has been exhausted based on the questions and answers between members have been satisfied. By the way, I had already gone through previous threads on this subject and also get updates on them daily if available. In conclusion, this thread would have been half the number of exchanges to get my questions answered if it had not interfered with or disrupted. I see that I wasn't the only member that wanted additional dialogue on this subject.

There are a lot of people who probably have questions similar to yours. There are also a lot of people who have questions about the best intakes/suspension setup/muffler, etc., etc. - that doesn't mean the questions should be asked or answered. This forum has a enough useless threads as it is..

You're lucky Sooner didn't tear you a new one and instead kindly asked you to follow the policies this forum has in place for everyone. Besides, it's a lot more rewarding to find your own information and cross check it with other threads with similar information to make sure it's correct than rely on what one person spoon-feeds you...
