might be selling the max next month
before you guys s**t a brick.. don't worry. I've got my eye on a 5spd 91SE that someone has for sale in the area. I'm going to check it out tomorrow. Doesn't run right now but if compression and tbelt are OK and the body and stuff looks OK then i'll probably grab it and fix it up with parts from my parts car (whose engine runs just as strong, if not stronger, than my GXE). If the car overall is nicer then my GXE.... then I'll have a decision to make. I want my car to stay among friends but i don't know if that is possible. Maybe a local org member might want it. Ionno. If i keep the 91 i'll just de-mod, re-mod and make the GXE look about as good as it's gonna get before i sell it. Paint is not rly fixable but i can make the rest look presentable. I haven't thrown anything out so i can still set it back to bonestock GXE appearance. Just need a spoiler for the exterior and it's good to go.

anyhow, Yes ideally i'd have a VE5 but until one comes my way, it isn't happening. I'm just going to start finding fixable 3rd gens, fixing, and reselling. But if one of the fixup cars is a step up from mine i might as well take the nicer, right?
i have a 90 right now. Anyhow, the purpose of going from one VG5 to another would be whichever one's nicer. I'm going to have both, so i'll be able to look the newtome one over, and take my pick. I can get a VG auto with a bad rear head on it for about the same price tho. And there are a few VEs at the junkyard. But that wouldn't help me b/c i can't put a ve auto into a VG car, and it would be weird to put a vg manual into a VE car. link to ve

lolz he has posted 29.5 times as often as you. and had about 5x posts.
If you are into painting at all, I would recommend myspoiler.com for a nice stock fiberglass one for $89.00 (not including shipping. Mine was $114.57)
. They come white and have a built-in LED for a brake light. Problem is, there might be some extra drilling and wiring that you would have to do to get it working and mounted correctly
. Other than that, it would look real sharp

!I found a decent stock spoiler at the JY that i will be getting sometime soon for my GXE since it's already the same color and has no cracks in the paint. Rotted but not cracked. But i bought a compression tester last night and i'm gonna check for the rotor to spin (tbelt check) and if that checks out, i'll pull ECU codes and if all that works out i'll have him hold it for me, as long as the rest of the car is in OK shape. I really hope it's nicer than my GXE... But then again I don't, b/c the GXE was my first car ever and, well, It's kind sentimental. I'll make sure to keep a piece of it to put on the 91 if I decide to keep it. Like the.. um.. I don't know actually.

car has a broken tbelt. Body is OK. Every part that i diagnosed as being wrong with it is in my parts car's inventory, including an entire engine that runs great. Price was dropped to $450 and i should be getting it back to my house next week. No spoiler but i have a spoiler that i painted white already, finish came out shiny and smooth. But i have a pearlwhite car so i repainted it.... now i'm going to repaint it back flat white, put it on the TBelt Car and get another JY spoiler for le Gxe. Then i'm getting the Parts Car taken to a JY b/c i'll be done with it at that point.
If you need parts not mentioned, PM me before the car is in the JY.
edit: for clarity:
blue 89SE no trans Parts car AKA Wingnut
pearlwhite 90GXE 5spd daily driver
white 91SE 5spd tbelt-broken car
buying white, putting blue's engine in white, scrapping blue. blue will have busted engine and the busted a/t when it goes to JY unless someone needs a/t mounts or some other a/t parts.

There is the link for you to check it out. The picture is not up to scratch though, but you get a general idea. Sorry I can't get you a better picture.

yes, I plan to. It might render one car or the other immobile temporarily while waiting to have enough money to get the pads and rotors, but one of them will use stock 91SE rears, and the other will use 89SE fronts and z31 rears. I'll put the drums on wingnut just so it'll have an ebrake and i might even go so far as to re-enable the hydraulics on it.
Hey Caped.......i would be interested in those tranny mounts if you think they would work for a 93 gxe........i get a bad shift at higher rpms and thats the only thing that i can think of at the moment. My gxe should be up and runnin this weekend after a top end rebuild from a damn t belt break. Get back at me on those tranny mounts or any other parts you have sittin around that would work on the gxe. I would love to find a used stillen kit or e36 lights, cause i want to try to retrofit them with projectors.

Whelp. I'm going to get the car now. I took some pics yesterday. What do you guys think of the very-american wheel/tire combo? A few little dabs of rust, but nothing NEAR what most of the rust-plagued cars have. Maybe 5 in^2 on the whole car, that i can see. Tho i will be checking for the seatbelt tether/fillerneck thing too not that there's much I can do about it since i'm not in a warranty-protected state. Tho i guess i can try and play the ignorance card if they say "um you aren't protected by that warranty".
The only thing really nagging at me is.... how to refit this thing with GXE keyless entry... b/c i'm ADDICTED to that ish on my GXE.

yea the rims are.. interesting. and so are the white letter tires, which don't have a whole lot of tread left. but they'll last until i can get tires tho.

more pics. ALL quoted pic links and stuff have been corrected for year, and thus, are 'broken links' unless you edit the post with the link in it to 89 rather than 91.
axles are shot. VERY little, if any, underbody rust. just the rotors, really. ypipe is in great shape amazingly. except that the catconv was cut out, but i have one to put in there so it's all good.
http://s164.photobucket.com/albums/u...%20Superwhite/ moar pics here.
i nabbed the spoiler that i took off my GXE, which after i painted it, ended up looking too white to be pearl white... plus it wasn't pearl anyhow... so it's a better fit for the 89Superwhite
