Must Sell By 5.27 - '97/SE/5spd/Blue/158k/Albany, NY
Long story short: Just got my tax returns returned to me because I'm an idiot and sent them incomplete -- I'm going out of the country for a month on Wednesday morning and had planned to use that money for the trip. This is my 2nd car, so I'm selling it to get some extra cash for the trip over the next month -- whoever can pay me by tomorrow evening, Tuesday the 27th, gets the car. The last thing I want to have to do is take it to a used car dealer where the new owner will not fully appreciate it, so I'm listing it here in the hopes that this is exactly what someone is looking for... You can reach me at 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx at any time.
I paid $4k cash in July '07 and, excluding me, it's a one-owner from VA. It was purchased by a small used car dealership outside of Raleigh, NC last June and I flew down to pick it up from them on July 1st and drove it home to NY without incident. In fact, it ran like new. I checked the CarFax before purchasing and it's clean; Had about 150k when I bought it, has 158,525 at this moment. I have the title in hand and ready to go. We can meet halfway if you're close -- Portland, Boston, Providence, Hartford, NYC, Philthy, etc, are all doable.
I just took about 60 pics so I need to host them and then I'll post some of them here.
JN1CA21D8VT221619 - BS3 (Dark Blue) - 5spd - SE - Base (sunroof, 'sport' cloth interior, manual temp controls, cd/tape/am/fm, HomeLink, etc.)
THIS IS A TRUE SOUTHERN CAR. Not a drop of rust, and the chassis has a rubber spray undercoating (can be seen in the pics) to help prevent it from developing in the future. Drives and runs great. Everything works with the exception of the few things described below.
Since I bought it there have been oil changes every 2 months using Castrol GTX High Mileage. I have a 5 quart container of 10W-30 that I will include since they were intended to be used for the next oil change. I cleaned the TB and put in a new Fram air filter. The battery is relatively new and holds charge fine. The starter and clutch were both replaced by the mechanic at the dealership I bought it from, and though I was skeptical at first, after he put it on the lift and let me look everything over and explained the work he did and all the things he had checked, I felt very confident about his work -- and the clutch and starter are both going strong. At my request when I got there he also had Redline MT-90 delivered and he put that in as well, and the shifting is smooth and crisp.
I get ~30 mpg doing about 75% hwy and 25% city and keeping my foot under control. I've only used 93 since I purchased it and I put in some Redline SI-1 each time I fill up. She runs like new.
At my mechanic's back home, I had 4 Brembo rotors put on along with Hawk HPS pads. He told me that the previous rotors still had about 80% life left, so he gave them to me and I will include them as well. I will also include the WarpSpeed Y-Pipe and Magnaflow High-Flow Cat that I purchased new from WarpSpeed but never got around to installing. He also put NGK Iridium IX (BKR5EIX-11, STOCK NO. 5464) plugs in (I can include the boxes from them if you'd like). Lastly we put on my awesome eBay strut bar -- I think it makes a slightly noticeable difference in handling, so I've kept it on.
Now the problems: Code P0201 has been on since I got it; It's the one about an ignition problem that usually turns out to be a coil pack -- I never bothered ordering a new set of 6 ($300 from Dave B) because it runs just fine. The other problem is that one of the rear deck speakers is out of commission and makes a fuzzy/static noise -- it's not horrible but it will stop you from turning up the volume too loud. And that's it -- no frozen calipers, leaking cv boots, or other pricey problem, just a rear speaker and (probably) a coil pack. Not too bad for a stock 10-year-old car in my book.
Additionally, I have a box of Courtesy Nissan goodies that I never had time to install: V Belt, Fan Belt, IACV Gasket, IACV, TB Gasket, and 10 Drain Pan Washers for future oil changes. These were random preventative maintenance parts that I planned to use when I had time.
Anything you would like to know, just call me! I've got until tomorrow evening to have a deal set up and sell this car. Certainly one of the more ridiculous car sales you'll see, but I'm not surprised that this would happen to me. As they say, "my loss is your gain."

Ok, I went a little overboard by saying there isn't a DROP of rust, but you know what I mean, this isn't your ordinary Northeast vehicle that is falling apart from nasty rust and corrosion all over. And there are maxima.org decals on the rear windows, I did the yellow capsule mod to the fogs (the proper, jb weld method), and the headlight bulbs are PIAA 4100k Intense White (they're noticeably whiter/brighter than normal halogens, though no substitute for HIDs).
