indiglos guages

you can search that on here. They are straight forward. just take out your guages and slip these on with double sided tape.

When wiring, I used the 12volt from the bulb wiring in the ash tray that comes on with your interior lights by default (the way you turn your headlights on at night). I did not use the dimmer switch that comes with it. Just a fuse.

Are they the same thing? Why the huge price gap?

They are basically the exact same thing. It's just that you get the cheaper on ebay. With some things on ebay you have to be careful but for these I wouldn't worry about it. I bought a set for another of my cars on ebay and they worked great. I've installed about 5 of these. Although you can use the ash tray what I always do since I have the dash already taken apart is run the wires to the back of the cluster and follow the lines until you see + and - on the back of the cluster undo the bulb and just place the two wires on there. ONe on + and one on - put the bulb back on and you're good to go.

i have the second one. yes, easy to install & looks better than the gxe gauges.
only downside is the cheap paper push button switch. but i rewired it to an on/off momentary switch anyway...

I don't like those style indiglo gauges so much. I prefer the indiglo gauges like I have in my car where when on the entire face glows one color with black font. The font is like OEM. It looks much cleaner and not so ricey. Plus they match well with my pillar gauges much better.

I need to find a night pic of the gauges.

i never preferred those single face glow gauges. i dunno, just seemed too plain i guess. but it still looks better than the gxe gauge. hows your max holding up?

Still on jackstands. With a 6 week old, and 20 billion projects at work, finding the time to finish things on it seem to always keep sliding.

What I'd like to try though for gauges is attempting to use a 2k2/2k3 cluster. I like that combo with the orange needles. Unfortunately that's probably more work than it's worth to get to work.

yeh i feel yah. i have a lot of mini projects to do and i'm anxious to get my
00vi and install that. oh and just for kicks, my msd rpm switch decided to go stupid, rpm display reads zero after 5 minutes so i had to send that to msd for repair which will take who knows how long...

but for the gauges, "made in china" has a 2k2/2k3 cluster swap on his 4rth gen but thats to accomodate his 6spd swap....

That I know of unless they come with the switch to make them red then no. I think they make the gauges in red also. Just gotta search for them. I'll try and find them and post the link if I do.
