the other day I totally 'effed my original truck lid and spoiler.

got another from a salvage yard... it's pretty nice but will need paint.

i've test fitted it and i'm really pleased with the line up.

i'm in the process of stripping the lights and spoiler off so i can take it all in for paint next week.

whilst trying to remove the spoiler i found that one of the spoiler posts is cracked right at the base where it seats to the lid. i can pull on the spoiler and make enough space in the split to insert a flat head screw driver.

what's a good means of repairing this if there is one?

i was thinking of fiberglass and a bunch of sandpaper.

what do you guys suggest?

 

you could use fg but i think the spoiler is made out of abs. if thats the case 2-part semi-rigid plastic repair is the way to go.

 

Regular two part epoxy or JB-weld should do the trick.
