Rear Brake Issues

So yesterday i pulled into my apartment complex to the sound of what sounded like terrible rubbing with my rear driver's side wheel. car stops fine but there was a horrible almost groaning sound coming from that wheel. as i got out of the car i noticed considerably more brake dust on that rim than on the other side. naturally i thought that it was a seized caliper but i changed those out not even a year ago. i took the rim off and pressed the brakes and a buddy of mine watching said that the caliper was compressing.. that paired with the fact that i just changed the calipers not even a year ago make me believe that a seized caliper may not be my problem? also, when i put the wheel back on and moved it, the terrible constant groaning noise went away but now there is a rubbing noise coming from it but almost like its from one spot.. not constant, it speeds up with the speed of my car or slows when i slow. what we did notice is that the pads on both rear wheels are somewhat loose, that is if i grab them with my hands i can wiggle them in place. the fronts i cant do this... my max has 205xxx miles on it and it looks to be original rotors... are the pads supposed to be that loose or are the floating due to bad rotors? what tests are there for caliper's because like i said, i changed both rear not even a year ago and they seem to be compressing.

any input is welcome. i'm kinda stumped with this one.

Get underneath and make sure the e-brake line isn't causing the caliper to seize up.

the e-brake works fine.. i had the car moving and just used the e-brake to stop it and it stopped fine.. if it was the e-brake or e-brake line wouldnt the e-brake not work? also.. if the caliper is moving when i look at it... could it still be seized?
