shop manual

Hello, I just purchased my '84 Max last night! It is pretty cool, but needs some love (I think any car you pick up for $400 does.) Does anyone know where to get a shop manual for it? Thanks in advance.

OK, still hunting down the shop manual. Maybe someone can help me out with this one: What are the factory tire pressures (front and rear, loaded/unloaded)? I just put some new tires on it today, but don't have an owner's manual or shop manual for it. It is a 1st gen ('84). Thanks again. --chris

Well the Haynes was no help and I don't have a shop manual. Plus I don't have an 84. All I can say is the pressue reccommendations are listed under the lid of the console compartment on my max. The haynes says they should be on the side of the driver's door as well.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help but I realized no one was replying to your post.

Come on you 1st Gens...Help him out!

Jorge, thank you for getting back to me. The first place I checked was the door jam, and it's not there (it is the weirdest door jam sticker I've ever seen!) and, believe it or not, I do not have a glove box (if that is what you meant.) I need to get a new "door" for it. Is that where you meant or is there another place that might list it? THanks again.

Actually I meant the little compartment between the seats on the console. Don't know exactly what it's called, but console compartment sounded good enough.

I have a little sticker there that gives me the recc. pressures when loaded, but not unloaded.

No glove box eh? That's an interesting option there. Don't believe it's factory though

Later,

Jorge, I've got another interesting option for you: I also do not have that console between seats So, what is the loaded tire pressures?

There you go. Sorry for the crooked scan, the damn sticker kept wanting to curl up.

Jorge,
Thank you for the scan. Unfortunately my car runs 185/70-14 big block alloys. What year is your car? Think I'll have to upgrade to the 15's when these tires wear out.

Answering myself here, and just giving info for anyone who needs it. I just picked up an owner's manual and service manual for a 1980 Datsun 810. I know it's not the same, but a lot looks similar in the drivetrain (I'm about to start a new thread on that discussion.) On that car (which uses the same tire sizes as my 1984 Maxima being 185/70-14)the tire pressures are 28psi (cold) for fronts and rears with no special loaded/unloaded rating. They give the same for the wagon for those that are interested. My local Nissan dealer (Future Nissan in Roseville, CA) is offering the service manual for my car at $63 if it is available. If the distributor needs to make a copy, then it goes up to $123. I am going to search a little more and will post here what I find.

Congratulations. I just got an '81 Max for $100.00. So what are you plans for your car?

I plan to put in a L28Turbo into mine and go from there.
