Ok dudes, one of my Nittos was flat the other morning, so I thought, what the fock, might as well just put the winter tires/wheels on now, instead of dealing with the new pair of Nittos I keep promising myself I'll order...

So I am there, yesterday, trying to get my VERY STUCK wheel locks off, and SNAP goes the key. I was really bummed, I'm thinking no way can I get the right key. So I went to the place where they sold me the wheel locks and he hooked me up with a new key no charge, but he was freaked out like "How the fock did you break it?" he was being funny, but said he'd never seen one broken before. I'm thinking, wait a second, all those boys with their Chevy trucks and air wrenches have never broken a wheel key? Yehhhh sure.

I also broke a ratchet extension trying to get stuck lugnuts off.

Lesson: put anti-seize compound on the threads/lugnuts each time you change your wheels. You guys probably already know this, but it seems like a real well spent five bucks to keep the headaches of stuck nuts (lol) and broken wheel keys.

So, my winter wheels are on.. no more cool Enkeis...

Is there anything I shouldn't put anti-seize on? (we're talking fasteners here )

 

I have blizzaks on the winter wheels (I bought a set of alloy Max wheels for winter) and they are GREAT in the snow/ice. Also very highly rated, so I don't think it's my imagination.

yeah i had a little trouble gettin my spacers off ...they kinda became part of the thing. But there off now. Anit seeze anti seeze lets see if i can remember till march.

 

anti sieze is the best on baked potatoes, IMO. YOu always need to put a little on sparks!!

Learned the same lesson with open lug nuts.. I had to replace 6 studs recently so now I use white lithium grease

 

But you already have snows on right???

 

A week ago I found out that my front tires were almost bald I didn't expect them to wear out so fast. Anyway, I rotated them but I'll be running some bald tires this winter...FUN

 

I'll need new ones by next Spring too. My tires are trashed.
