one_fast_max track 08-30-08

i finally got out to the track after installing slicks, 75 shot, electric exhaust cut out, and ACT street clutch. needless to say i had to relearn out to drive the car all over again. i had a horribly rough time learning to launch with the slicks. i would launch from 5500 and it would still bog off the line with a horrible 2.2+ 60'...well i upped the tire pressure and didn't do a burnout through the water box and i finally cut a few 1.9xx....i still think i should get better 60's...so any comments are appreciated too!! now this track is a 1000' track.....comments please!

these two are my best runs spraying the 75 shot:

60 1.960
330 5.597
1/8th 8.668 @ 81.95
1000' 11.068 @95.30

60 1.992
330 5.614
1/8th 8.655 @ 82.34
1000' 11.05 @ 95.32

sorry guy a 8.65 1/8 mile = 13.5 1/4mile

but thats still really go with a better 60ft, 100shot and you'll be in the 12's no problem

Not bad runs at all. And I agree about the 100 shot. Getting into the 12s will become a breeze.

thanks guys.

yeah haha...after looking at that a little more i realized that's not close to 12's...oh well. haha. my car got progressively slower as the night went on....i don't know if i'm starting to loose compression or something...but i ran NA and it was a 12.5 @84, that's with 00vi and my previous best with USIM was 11.7 @ 88.....so i don't know what the heck is going on....but it appears something isn't right with my engine.....

yeah that is a big drop, do a compression test.

good mid 13 second 1/4 mile runs though, slicks are nice aren't they.

thanks neal! i'm a little disapointed with a mid 13 sec run....i figured its faster than that....that's why i'm thinking something is up with my engine....

yeah i love slicks! launching at 5500 feels like driving on clouds or something!! its awesome!

i might have to start looking for a 3.5...

well...if i was making the power from launch like you guys i wouldn't be able to launch from 5500....but i think i'm going to try kzoosho's way next time out....i'm going to try to slip the clutch a little bit.

here's a video of the race night. it was made by a member of a local arkansas forum. there is two runs of me. the first one was my very first run and it sucked....the other one of me by myself was my personal best ever. enjoy

the last run was an 11.06 @ 95...and just for the record i wasn't racing anyone so that's why i have a majorly delayed R/T haha

Well it depends on the car and where the power is on the car, in my case i did a 9.1@1/8 when i ran 13.8@1/4.... did few changes went at a local 1/8 track and ran exactly 8.6@1/8, which means in the 1/8 alone I went .5 faster, subtract from the 13.8 i got 13.3. Thats with a 2.1 60', so i think he could possibly be close to 12.

^yeah i see what your saying. i know i wouldn't have seen 12's this particular time because of the heat and humidity here in arkansas. but i know that if i get more practice with this setup...since it was my first time out....and cooler "winter" weather, this setup will see a 12 time slip

I doubt, but your correct this is only a est but remember your turbo which normally has alittle more top in than nitrous car so most of he's gains are had in the 1st 1/8 when nitrous really shines. Just like a high reving small block vs a low rpm high tq big block

so what I am trying to say is if you guys raced and had the same 1/8mile you would won in the 1/4

by the way this is way 1/8 mile and 1000ft tracks suck cause it puts you in a guessing game
