FS: one Koni that I shortened too much
FS: one Koni that I shortened too much
Cliffs:
One almost new shortened koni that you will have to epoxy or weld in
Two gutted and prepped strut casings
$80+shipping
Long version:
This koni has been in the car for maybe 1 or 2 thousand miles, it was shortened so no bottoming out.
Then I stripped the threads out.
So, I was debating trying to maybe epoxy or weld it into the strut casing, but I just do not have the time nor the knowledge or experience for this.
So, I am putting it up for sale in hopes that someone else with a welder or a will to make it happen can take advantage of the situation.
Here's what's up for sale:
$80 plus shipping gets you:
1 Functionally brand new shortened 4th gen Koni sport (yellow) strut insert with a stripped retaining bolt hole.
2 Gutted/prepped stock strut casings, one left one right.
Cheapest I have seen these is $124 (plus shipping) apiece, half MSRP, directly from Koni. You can get them for about $260 a pair plus shipping online.
All you would need is another Koni insert, a welder/epoxy and some experience and ingenuity for a complete set of drop-in shortened Koni front struts on the cheap.
PRECAUTIONS: this is sold AS-IS. The strut works right now and has very few miles on it, but if you try welding it and rupture the seals, that is not my problem. I am selling this at a discounted price because I don't want to deal with it, so it is your problem if you buy this from me. You are buying my problem off my hands in order to benefit from your solution.
Please do not ask 20 questions in this thread, do your homework before you buy this. If you do not know about the procedure to install Konis then I can direct you to this thread:
http://forums.maxima.org/advanced-su...need-them.html
Please read the thread before you ask questions.
Onto pics:

(the Koni Red on the bottom is NOT included in the sale)

(I guarantee that the set of casings I provide will secure the Koni)
Anyway, thanks for the interest.
