OMG!! 0-60 MPH in 5.98 Seconds!!!!

I finally completed my personaly goal for my NA 5spd 95 maxima!!!{103K miles} Thats right 0-60 in 5.98 seconds with just bolt on's!! I used my G-Tech pro to do the measurements. I have been hitting up the same spot of flat ground since I was stock and I use to average about 6.4-6.6. Then after I put all my mods on I averaged about 6.2-6.3. I changed my fuel filter today and now my car is a bat out of hell! The thing is noticably quicker as proven by my 5.98 to 60 mph! . Who ever said mods don't work? . BTW My fully modded SC 5spd I30T use to nail 0-60 in 5.98-6.1 on average, once I nailed 0-60 in 5.44, traction was a real problem.

What do you guys thing?! Sweeeet!

FYI I had a full interior and 1/4 tank of gas. I did two other runs, one 6.09{Another record} and 6.19!

Congrats! Now you will owe me a ride in that car, which will slow it down to 0-60 in 8 sec

If you don't mind, I would like a ride in your new 6 speed Max.

All right Baller .

Another thing, I think I may have fixed my starting problem!! My fuel filter was clogged big time, the gas was almost black comming out of it! I just started my car up 4 times perfectly, atleast 2 of thode times would have caused a big problem normaly, I will update that issue as I drive the car more today.

I hear they read a little on the fast side but for emax's case, it's really good for comparasions of mods etc.. He used the same stretch of road so it should be pretty consisant. You should not be looking at the times perse, but the improvement of the times after each mod.

But emax, if you get times even close to those on the track, I'm really proud of ya!

Thanks, the G-Tech seems pretty acurate becuase when my max was stock it would often hit 60 MPH at 6.6, which is was MT tested it at. Also if I run my I30 0-60 it usualy takes 7.0-7.1, which again is what MT got for times. Either way I know my max is right around 5.-6.1 0-60mph, I'm going with the 5.9!

Another thing, my max's starting problem is gone! I drove around town today and made a bunch of stops, each time the car fired right up with no problem!

well, the g-tech should be little bit more acurate than a drag strip, g-tech starts right when you start the car, so it gives you the "true-start" and then it's just a matter of a shift from 1-2 gear, and that shouldn't be too too bad

G-Tech's are not Bullsh!t. If you think they are prove me wrong, what led you to this conclusion, or are you just saying it because you heard some one else say it?

Daren, I agreee that 1/4 mile times and HP #'s from the G-Tech are not 100% accurate, but I have only heard and seen good things about there 0-60 times. BTW Soory if I was rued above..

i am just sick of all those 13 sec CL-S who only run on G-Tech .. so i hate the product..

Squishy.. yes the VQ has headers.. he got them from New Zealand

Yeah, last time I ran the 1/4 with my G-Tech I got 15.06 @ 94.6 mph. I had a real bad lounch that run, the #'s did seem pretty realistic, the trap speed was a bit high though. Then again the trap speed is suppose to be higher with a G-tech because unlike a track it gives you the MPH at the end of the 1/4 mile rather then a average of the last 90 ft or something.

Bryan H, like Sprint said, I got them imported from Zew Zealand.

Emax:
I've used a G-Tech earlier in the year at the track noticed they do seem to be off a little. I was getting consistent 14.7-14.8s@94 at the track, but the G-Tech was reading 14.4-14.5@98mph. 0-60 times were in the 5.7-5.8 range. I have a little trouble believing that I've shaved .6-.7 off my 0-60. Thought I'd just give my input.

Bryan:
It seems the headers don't make anymore power than a y-pipe. If Ethan would have made 185fwhp+/200fwtq+ with the headers, I would have been in line. Unfortunately, Ethan's Max only made 170fwhp/185fwtq or something like that. You still considering a Maxima?

173HP and 178 TQ.
I am going to try to dyno my car again tomarrow maybe! I know it won't have any relivence to my Headers but I think my car is going to put down atleast 185 FWHP this time around, I have done a lot of tuneup and exaust leak repair +'s a UDP.

Now for the G-Tech, if you drive down hill or hit bumps it will screw up it's reading, maybe the terrain you tested on was no good? Just a idea.. BTW I still can't brake 15 seconds in the 1/4 mile with my G-Tech, I just did a 15.03 @ 98.2 MPH! If anything it seem's like my G-tech reads slow .

i'm not sure about others, but with me anything that just bolts on is considered as a bolt on.. except for nitrous, becuase you hafta drill into the intake manifolds.. turbos and superchargers are also considered as bolt ons in my book.. but hten again i'm known for my faulty logic

Let me help you with your logic. Nitrous, SCs and turbos are just like steroids for humans.

supercharger MAYBE but a turbo requires drilling of the oil pan amongst other things. So by your logic its not a bolt on.

but you can always get a "T" tap for the oil line.. so that way it wouldn't require drilling..

Has anyone seen the pics of the time? I saw them and the strip of road that they used was definitely going slightly downhill (you can see it by looking at the horizon). This might have contributed to the times. The other thing to consider is the driver...my boss owns a WRX and we were talking about it the other day:

Fastest launch: rev to just when the Turbo kicks in and drop the clutch. But you can't do this every day, at every stop light, unless you plan on doing major repairs on your vehicle.

Similiarly, it's fully possible that these guys (I didn't watch the show) did a "trick" (what I call it) launch.

5.9 is a little ridiculous...even the guys on the Altima forums were saying that.

The 7.2~7.3 for the auto in C&D seems much more plausible.

Ethan-
I used the G-Tech while I was at the track. It's smooth and level.

Everyone-
I've watched Motorweek and the track they use is clearly down hill. I saw this weeks segment and they got a 15.1@94mph out of the IS300 wagon which is a little far fetched, especially the trap speed. They also got a 105 mph trap speed out of the Bullit Mustang. It is clear to me that their times and mphs are about .3-.4 lower and 5mph higher than everyone elses times.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Manual Alti's do 6.5~6.7.

Considering I35 does 6.9 auto, I would say 6.2~6.4 for manual seems fair with the right driver(Max can't be that much off from those numbers).

G35 I estimate 5.9~6.1 manual

350z, all known facts considered: 5.7-5.9 Possibly lower (I'm hoping < 5.5, but it's a stretch considering these guys all basically have the same 3.5L). Note that the two latter cars are RWD.

The tests we've seen so far are between 5.9 (MotorWeek) and 6.3 (Road & Track).
