Attn. Matt. Brake Q?
When you installed your brembos on the front, did you have any lurching sound when you stoped. Also, did they feel kind of soft until you warmed them up?
I also got the wheels put on. They look great, hopefully I'll get some picks soon.
Thanks

Yeah, that seems to be pretty normal witht he brembo rotors..
lurching sound may be because they're new.. mine did all kinds of funky stuff like that when new, but now they're fine.. when I brake very hard and they start to get hot, they make a noise though.. I'm guess it's from where the holes in the rotor hit the front edge of the pad.. dunno for sure though.. but damn they stop better than stock!

Whooooo, noooo! I wish!
mine are just crosdrilled brembo rotors, that's all.. they're a direct replacement for stock.
you can get them from Porterfield, Stillen, lotsa other places..
(the Stillen "sport" rotors are brembo drilled rotors in a Stillen box.)
and to be honest, they're the cheapest place I found for them. cost me about $165 for the fronts I think.. by the time you buy them from porterfield and have them drilled, you're paying more than that. but then again, you also have the option of having them cryo treated through porterfield.

hehe yeah.. something like that on my end too..
you can also modify a set of Z brakes to fit our cars. you'll have to have 17" rims, and they'll have to have quite a bit of room around where the caliper will be, since they've got pistons on both sides of the caliper..
I forget how much people are selling the set for, but I would think you could do it for under $500, including new rotors.

that's just for the drilled brembo rotors..
I'm still running stock calipers and Bendix IQ pads up front. (add about $30)
Nissan pads in rear, with brembo rotors back there (OEm replacement type, nothing too special there)
if you're gonna do it and want good pads, go with Axxis or porterfield or EBC... they'll run you $100+ for a 4 corner set, but very much worth it..
even with these Bendix, I can hardly get them to fade..
a couple days ago, I took the car up to 105, then turned off O/D and floored it.. drug the brakes also to keep it at a constant 105mph.. I held it like this for about a mile, then pulled off at my exit and STOMPED the brakes.. ZERO fade, and I could still easily lock up the fronts with just a little more pressure on the brake pedal.. impressive for $30 pads!

Damn. My pads are excellent in wet conditions and low speeds, but once you get them up around 60 and are trying to stop really fast, you can slam on the SOB's and it doesn't feel like they are slowing down. Their cheapies from Raybestos, got at Shucks, and i HATE THEM! I get brake dust on my rims 30 minutes after i clean them and they squeel at low speeds, or until they get warm.
I was looking at the Big Brake system from Stillen, cause i like the sport calipers and cross drilled/slotted rotors, although i don't think they come slotted. But with the calipers the price is outrageous.
