at locally. I have tried to find a place to buy them "over the counter" and can't find them. If not, how about an internet site? Thanks

Carparts.com...

carparts.com has them, not by that exact name though. I just ordered them from there. There are online coupons available for carparts.com. Try looknig at http://www.deal-finder.com for the coupons.

I agree. I have PF on the front. I wish I would have known about the PF group deal 2 weeks ago. I needed some quick so I got the Axxis for the rears. Oh well. Do the rear brakes make "that" much of a difference? Hmmm, I wonder.

the rears make a large difference in the overall feel of the car. not in daily braking per se, but when you stomp on 'em hard or are driving hard, you'll really notice a difference.

after I smoked all 4 corners at maxus, I replaced the fronts with Bendix (will buy PF or Axxis soon though), and left the rears with the stuff that was on there. keep in mind mine are drums in the back, but they absolutely sucked.
I could lock the fronts very easily, and the rears would still be turning.. my parking brake was a joke.

I pulled them off and sanded the glaze off them, exposing new brake surface to the drums... it still sucked, so I went and bought a set of OEM nissan shoes. %40 for those suckers, but they made a huge difference in the way the car handled and stopped. the car now brakes evenly and I can lock the rear brakes with just grabbing the parking brake again. when I lock up the tires, all 4 corners will lock at approx the same time. before, I could have both fronts completely locked, and the rears would barely be stopping the car. not a good thing.

in high performance/hard driving applications, the rears make a huge difference.

Try Courtesy Nissan. I personally prefer AXXIS/PBR Deluxe pads. I had horrible problems with the Metal Masters. With the Skyline R32 brakes on the max, I had no problem locking up the tires at 90 mph. You can ask any of the people on this board that have ridden in my car as to how effective they are. I liked them so much I put them on the front of the CRX. I used AEM/Nissan Ceramic pads in the rear. Braking distances dropped by over a third and feel improved drastically.

I have just gotten through the break in period of 800 miles on the new Miata. I like the pedal feel, but the pads feel soft. They don't want to stop unless I use a lot of pressure. I just ordered a set of AXXIX Deluxe pads for the front and rear today from Brake Warehouse(brakeco.com) to fix the problem.

The Deluxe pads work extremely well both cold and hot. I've had no noticeable brake dust. They also stop with little pressure, but are not grabby. They are very quiet. I have never used any of the 'anti-squeel' pastes on the pads. I just put the stock factory shims on them on both cars and have never gotten a since squeel on either car.

The Metal masters by contrast grinded at low speeds and when cold. They were very grabby. They made a strange metal scraping sound. They gave off a lot of gray brake dust. Fortunately, I had no problem getting someone off the twin turbo board to buy them off me. The only time I liked them was from making repeated stops from 100+, other than that they were junk.

I can vouche for thos pads....

When Loren was taking us for a test spin at the dallas meet. We ran down some integra typeR then he had to hit the brakes. When he did its almost like we when from 90 to 30 in like 1 second. Not only did all of us test the seat belts but experiencing that much Negative G's is enough to humble anyone. Let it be known that I have never ever tried to do what he did! Worst of all I have to ride on AUTOZONE pads, because no one makes pads for my car .
