FS: HID Retrofitted Headlights and/or Parts
FS: HID Retrofitted Headlights and/or Parts
I have for sale my entire retrofitted headlight setup OR all the parts from them, depending on interest. My setup is as follows:
-97+ OEM headlights (clear plastic) that have been wetsanded for perfect clarity and painted black AE-style
-E46 bixenon projectors with a mildly modded cutoff shield (for additional color)
-E46 ballasts and ignitors
-Phillips 4300k capsules (bulbs)
-Custom harness that plugs right into your factory wiring (and the battery)
This is all original work done by maxgtr2000 and mildly modified by me at one point. I went back and soldered a bunch of stuff that was simply crimped together for added strength. I also added ground wires to each ballast case to ground them better.
Here's the negatives: the passenger side headlight bracket is sort of broken. Not in any way unusable, I still use these headlights every day on my car. But the headlights have to sit at an angle to be aimed properly and if aimed back into the right position it's sort of "loose." It won't ever fall out, it's plenty secure, but it's loose and could use some TLC. If you fix the bracket yourself I'm sure it could be good as new, just needs a tiny bit of work I never felt like doing. Also, the setup needs new shrouds. The ones used before had a bit of a rough cut to them on the inside because the original setup had angel eyes that covered them. Make your own using piping equipment from Lowe's or Home Depot for a couple bucks and it will look great. So all in all the setup needs maybe $10 invested and some of your time to be perfect.
HOWEVER, if no one is interested in buying the entire setup, I will sell just the HID equipment (without the headlight housings). I must sell it all together, though, I will not part it out. That means you'd be buying the ballasts, ignitors, capsules, projectors, and harness. All you would need is a new set of headlight housings and a little bit of hardware to retrofit them.
Make me an offer and let me know whether you want them whole or just the equipment. The difference in price would be small, mostly to cover the additional shipping costs.
The following is just a few pictures of the setup. I can take more per request. The first of the pictures is just to show how the passenger side headlight sits.

Also, I'm willing to trade my projector-retrofitted fog lights for stock ones + cash. PM me if interested.

Thanks for the offer, but that's far from an equal trade. My next setup is also still two-piece
I will in a few days if no one bites on the full setup. I hate to see pre-modified headlights go to waste but I didn't pay much for them anyway so it's not a big deal. If in a few days no one has bought the full setup, make me an offer for what you think is fair

I'm also likely doing a single-xenon setup on the Talon eventually.
The "broken" part is the headlight housing and frame, nothing to do with the projector. The projector is held to the inside of the headlight housing using bolts/nuts. The broken part is where the headlight housing attaches to it's own frame (since the headlight is technically two pieces). The projectors themselves are fully adjustable. The shroud isn't really fixable, but it doesn't need to be. You could replace it with something nicer from Lowe's or Home Depot for like $2.
