Starter Location Details, Pics - Urgent
Hey guys! From reading posts on here, I think my starter has shot..been sluggish starting the past couple of weeks (has always been the case in cold weather)...but wont' start at all today...radio and lights are still great, battery terminals look clean. Can someone explain where I can find the starter or provide a pic....2000 SE model? I'd like to try and tap on it with a screwdriver like I have seen mentioned to see if it will start, to where I can at least get it to a shop. I appreciate everyone's help!
Extremely Easy to replace, Remove airbox , Spin out the 2 bolts and slide it right out, it took my about 15 mins to replace mine, though it did leave a nice dent in my wallet, Make sure you disconnect the negative battery terminal first before you begin. Them 120 amp fuses are like $6
I just did mine again today. I did it a couple weeks ago with an AutoZone re-manufactured starter ( I didn't originally intend to use AutoZone, but the one I bought from Nissan was not the right one, and I was working at 9pm and NEEDED my car the next day, so a quick trip to autozone worked). First time took me about an hour and a half, but again, I was working at night with little light, so it was a little rough. Today I had it out in less than 15mins. Its very eas to do yourself, most of the places I called before I did it myself quoted $400+. The starter from Dave B is $207 if I remember, and AutoZone was $145.
