when closed, the rear of my sunroof sits just a tad low in relation to the roof panel.

not finding any stickies or how to on this adjustment.

You would need shims.

 

Pull the black trim pannels off the sunroof. You will see 4 bolts with U shaped shims between the roof and the frame. Loosen the bolts, push the roof up slightly and slide a washer in there.

 

There's an adjustment spec in the FSM for the sunroof. I would suggest checking there as well...

 

Are you experiencing extra wind noise? The rubber trim does not prevent water from getting in, there are drain holes in the corners of the sunroof for that.

 

no extra noise that i've noticed... i've just noted that with the sunroof fully closed, the rear of the glass panel does not sit flush with the roof line.

 

Mine sits low also, no wind noises and never any water in the cabin. Keep the drain holes clean, 4 of them, one in each corner. If the fitment really bothers you, then raise it up a bit, it's very easy to do. The roof window is only held on by the 4 bolts under the plastic trim.

 

Since we are on topic about sun roofs I hope the OP doesn't bother me asking my question since his has already been answered.

After opening and closing the sunroof multiple times I noticed the rubber trim has separated in the middle back. I had leaks if enough water fell so I just used electric tape to temporary fix it and it works. In the front of the sun roof it is a bit loose and not sealed (about 1 1/2 inches), but I get no noise or water leaks.

My question is how do you adjust the rubber trim? I tried to push it back in, but doesn't stay.

 

I tried adjusting mine awhile back... the shims are maxed out, ie I put another one on there and the nut doesn't go on the bolt.. any ideas what I do now?

 

I have the same issue. Over time, the rear of the roof has been sitting lower and lower. It is now so low that I can hear wind noise in the cabin and I can see the stamped bend on the driver side corner. The passenger side rear is low but not as low as the driverside.

Is adding shims the only option? Why would the glass get lower and lower over time. Are some parts wearing off that we can replace to raise the roof back to where it was when new?

Forgot to mention, no water leaks. Just the wind noise which I can get rid of if I play with the switch and raise the roof just so its flush.

Your question is answered in this thread, the height is adjustable with shims.
Shim it and be done with it.

If you wish to rebuild your sunroof, search the forum for the sunroof rebuild thread.
Might be a bit tough to find new parts though.
