1106 Code

So I got this code....

1106 - AT 4th Gear Signal Fault

It's weird cause it worked ok and the OD light never blinked before. I got this code before a transmission swap. Now that I had the swap, the OD light blinks upon start-up. I think it had something to do with the CPS that was bad causeing hard starts. But the light now blinks upon start and it seems to jerk a bit when engaging or disengaging the OD. When i was changing my rad one of the hoses leading ito the rad from the tranny slipped off and tranny fluid went everywhere. It stalled and never started again untill I cleaned my CPS (POS). Just so you know

Anyway, any ideas what the problem may be? Is there a sensor which I can get at that sends the signal so I can have a look?

I read somewhere that the problem could be the MAF

I got this code about 4 years back, and 4th gear was definatly slipping. I had the tranny replaced and all was well. 1 year ago, I got this code again. I thought oh crap - another 3000 dollars, but couldn't find anything wrong. The was no slipping at all. I tried doing what provoked it before - driving up a fairly steep hill on the highway at 70mph. No problems. I did the throttlebody/MAF cleaning thing and reset the light, and it stayed off for 6 months. Now its back on. there's still no slipping in 4th at all.

About the OD light - it's blinking because it's giving you another code. Get the long/short sequence too

I don't mean to say that the OD is broken - it's that the auto transmission can throw it's own codes by blinking the OD light in the same way that the ECU blinks the check engine light.

See this sticky to get and interpret the blinking OD light codes:

Have you done the TCM diagnostics to see what code it's throwing? Probably the same code you're pulling above.
