Weird problem

I was leaving my girlfriends house today and it took a good 5 min to start my car. It was turning over fine no struggling at all and I know the battery is good.

Strange thing is that when I use my car's custom auto start it starts right up with no problem at all.

Back to the key and it takes forever.

I also purchased a new spare key without a chip in it today and started my car with it since there's already a chip with the auto start.

Any thoughts?

It's worked fine ever since I owned the car.

Maybe the new key caused the computer to continuously draw from the other chip?

weird.

it's likely that the remote start is messing with your ecu. I would have the place that installed your remote start take a look at the wiring for you. there probably is a short somewhere.

Problem is that the car is from NY and that's why it has the auto start.

I live in TN and I bought the car from a dealer here and it somehow uses the cars locking system to operate the start. The dealer didn't even know that the car had auto start when I bought it.

did you happen to see what your "security" light was doing while you were trying to start it? if it was staying solid red it is a imobilizer problem. If it was off it is more likely a fuel delivery problem (pump, filter, injectors) or you are getting no spark for some reason.

Now that I think of it, I believe it was solid red.
