So im looking at this VE 5 speed. The person said it would die when they came to a stop. But it would start right back up. The last time they drove it and came to a stop, it died, but it wouldn't start back up.

Anyone have any idea what would cause that? If it something simple I think I might pick it up. I was thinking maybe the neutral safety switch? would that cause it to die like that? and possibly not start anymore?

 

A dirty or malfunctioning IACV may cause this, a extremely dirty throttle body may cause this condition also.

hmm...Im thinking I might make this investment, Im sure its something not too difficult. They say battery is dead from car just sitting..I want to make sure the motor spins and at least tries to start before I buy it and have it towed to my house, probably $100 tow. They also claim that it has never made the clack sound. A ve 5spd around without the clack is pretty hard to find.

Is there any other possiblities that would make this car die at lights, and now not want to start at all? IACV, MAF, or dirty TB are all pretty easy fixes.
