Gratuitous Comments Thread

Ok, it's time to put some fun (hopefully) into this forum and I want to start out by giving everyone here a chance to add in some of the comments that they have heard about their 09 Maxima from different people.

I'll go first:

"What kind of car is that, is that a BMW?"

"I thought that was a Lexus when I first saw it!"

"That thing looks like it is a RWD car"

The other day when I got my passenger front window re-tinted the Cashier (female) said, "wow, is that really the new Maxima, I gotta see that car up close".

It's funny to me some of things I hear people saying, so what have you heard (complimentary remarks preferred, remember this is supposed to be fun).

"Is it RWD or AWD?"

"Is that really a Nissan?"

"Your car is sick"

Thats all I've gotten so far...

I actually had the Lexus comment as well.

Other comments were on the 19" tires...and the shape of the hood. Lot of positive comments....

I have gotten the Lexus comment as well the BMW comment as well and:
-What year is that?
-Is that the 09 Maxima?
-Those rims make it look sick!
-Man your ride looks clean driving up to the gate! (military base)
-How much horsepower does your ride have?
-How much did she cost?

......and my favorite when you gonna let me drive that sexy beast!

Rats! I get no comments. But that is because we park at the far end of every lot and immediately head for the store/restaurant/etc. While inside, I frequently look out to the far end of the lot to check on the car, and several times, there have been either vehicles paused near it, looking, before moving on, and other times, folks standing near it, just staring at it. I would love to know what they are thinking.

While sitting at traffic lights in this car, I often get the feeling I am being 'looked at', and when I glance around, there is usually someone in another car looking at my shiny '09.

I usually prefer to keep a low profile, but I definitely have the wrong car for that.

Not relevant. liypfhe1 already answers to a woman back at home. I may have dreamed it, but I thought I saw him refer to her as 'She who must be obeyed.'

While eating with my wife at a restaurant today, we saw a woman pointing out our '09 to her husband. We know she was pointing at our car, because ours was the only car there on that inconvenient far side of the restaurant. Again, I wish I could have heard what she said.

light, you're a funny old dude, I love reading your commentary. Next time don't park so far away so you can run (if you can still do this, j/k) out and hear what they're saying.

I normally get this from my coworkers. "your the one making all the money with the new Max sitting in your garage! It must be nice!"

And my reply is "It sure is!"

Hello to all,

1st time poster, long time reader.1st off I'd like to express my appreciation for all the posters who genuinly(spelling) have a passion for cars, but most importantly the Max.Being from the north country the Mtl area I haven't had the opportunity to comment on the new Max because quite frankly as of now I'm the only one in my area to have one.

I have had practically every generation of the Max,and this is by far the most satisfying. I'm quite surprised at the lack of the new ride, because for the most part the Max has always been a big seller up here.Again an amazing site for sharing ideas and hopefully not for many problems,Enjoy your rides.

My ride, Precision grey with sport and tech package. Also 06 Murano and 02 Camaro SS convertible triple black.

What in the world do you do with a Maxima in Montreal in January? Hook it to the back of your snowmobile? At least you will be the star of the road up there when summer arrives. That would be around July?

Hope you continue adding your thoughts on this '09 Maxima to the board. We have a few other Canadian posters, and they often have questions involving very cold weather with which we folks down in hot climes can't help.

Welcome to the Maxima community Noob (j/k). Does your Maxima wear a fur coat up there?

Glad to have you bro, we look forward to hearing more from you.

Thks for the welcome bk2k3max,come to think of it the only thing that needs a fur coat is the navi system.Made a lot of stange noises when it got below 30 celsius. It sounded like the hard drive was looking for a place to hide.It wouldn't boot up until the car started generating some heat,on the other hand the heated wheel is a nice added touch.

At the bank yesterday 3 tellers came up to me asking if that was the new Maxima. Then saying the love it.

Around here (Jersey SHore) I have only seen 3 Maxima's. So it is still new. I get a lot of other previous gen max owners staring at the car while driving or at a light.

A guy in a Hyundia asked about the dual sunroof and went on to say his brother has it in his benz, but he did not know that Nissan's had it.

I truly enjoy this car and I am pleased that I leased this rather then the vette, charger rt or challenger rt. They have more horsepower no doubt, but I think this is car overall is better...and classier. The best Maxima yet.

"You are too old for a mid-life crisis"

"A hotrod, huh?"

The toughest thing is the car is so willing to go...hard to resist pushing the pedal...it's like it wants to run and I'm restraining it. Know what I mean?
