For the peeps thinking about selling the Max due to lack of AM parts...

Take a look at what the what a 9 year old sport car cost.

If you want to mod for speed, check out the prices for the 1993 RX-7 Turbo ($12,380). If you spend another $4000 on a turbo upgrade, you will have one of the fastest cars on the street.

What about reliability?? 9 year old car + rotary engine + turbo upgrade = $$$ money for parts.

If you want mad speed, just find a '93 240SX for around $6K US, add a $4K SR20DET engine/tranny swap..and increase boost...400rwhp on stock internals.

oh geeze they're sooo nice inside and out!

My friend's dad has one and I got to look it over real good. The engine is beautiful, interior feels like a cockpit (because you got to be ready to fly!), and it's in mint condition and very nice on the outside. The shifter had such a short throw and went into the gears very easily. Has a bose "wave" sound system which looks really tight but I didn't listen to it, I'm sure it's still not as good as my or any other good aftermarket system, but still nice. The thing flies, like 4.7 0-60 right? Some crazy number like that. Only thing is I think they get real slow at the topend because it's purely an off the line car. I looked up mods for it and there are definitley some tight ones. Air intake that comes above the light, turbo mods, chip that ads 40 hp or something like that. ROOL:!!!!

My lady doesn't like me to race but I think when I am more settled with funds, I will build a racer and it might be an RX-7. Hell, I need to buy a house soon.

Screw that all, I got the best/most reliable/cheapest/most stylin solution to them all. Get a sport bike. My CBR600F4i turns more heads then most cars do. Chics totally dig sport bikes. It costs only $8,000 and it runs 10s out of the box. Its very reliable, and has plenty of aftermarket support, including turbocharger kits. And, I have yet to find any car that can match the freedom and fun I have on two wheels.

Yeh, I've got a 2k 929. Totally tricked out. It is very pleasing to smoke an $80k sports car with my 10k bike!

Real sports car?

Try a 1970 240z (2300lbs) w/ a B26Dett shoved in or maybe a Supra TT engine in there.

Or a 1970 Datsun 510 w/ a SR20DET or CA18-T or FJ20 turbo motor(330 hp on 26 psi, inconel valves)

All very doable projects. Hell I've seen FJ20T engines in Datsun 1600 Roadsters! Very cool

Your CBR runs 10's out the box... hmm..i don't think they are that fast..maybe high 11's ... a GSXR750 will run 10.9 out the box...

Still, you are right, there is nothing like riding a bike...

Scroll down to see the 1/4 mile time. This is just one source where I've seen the F4i running 10s. If you want more reviews I'll search for them. Last night a F4i was running 11.3's, but you know how much times can vary at the track, especially on 2 wheels.

But Bikes can't sit more then 1 other person, they are dangerous and you can't listen to the radio, sit back and relax, drink coffee or take it out in cold *** weather. All of which you can do with a car Cars are much better then bikes, I don't like bikes mainly because of the danger, my brother knew a few guys who died in bike accidents, my friends good friend was seriously hurt a few times now and he's still riding bikes.. what a dumbass

But the question here was what vehicle would perform best for cheapest and my answer is motorcycle. As for sitting two persons... what do you think a Corvette, S2000, Boxter, MR2 spyder are?

Better is a highly subjective term. Better at what? Dollar per horse power? Acceleration? Braking? Cornering? Fun factor? Cost of maintenence? Fun? What about parking? I laugh cause I can park just about anywhere a car can't. How about manueverability, when its bumper to bumper traffic especially where you are in NY, try lane splitting in your Maxima.

Look at the cost ratio here. What car can you get for $8000 brand new? Also, tell me why my .6 L motor makes more horse power per liter then most all car engines do, yet still run 86 octane gas despite its 12:1 compression ratio and get 50+ mpg highway and be able to rev to 14,500 RPM, accelerate 0-60 in 2.8 seconds. Dollar per dollar, no beating a 2 wheeler.

Dangerous? What about cars? I know alot more people who have been killed or seriously hurt in car crashes then bike crashes. I also know more people who havent had a death or serious injury then those who have. Bikes are far more maneuverable then cars are, brake much better, and out accelerate most cars. Many if not most bike crashes are caused by an inexperienced rider.

The fact is motorcycles are a way of life. Obviously you've never owned one, so before you go bagging on bikes I hope you try one out one day. Motorcycling is one of the best things I've ever done.
