I still like gray. when my VE(s) were clean and shiny it looked great and flew under the cops radar all the time. it almost blends in with the asphalt and concrete

I like charcoal grey, black, black emerald green. If you can afford another color INCLUDING painting in the door crevices get another color, if not then stick with the same

i believe there was one gold 3rd gen..was also dumped on airbags and a member on here i had thought, maybe a few years ago.

personally I like black, so nice and shiny when its clean and fresh paint job. although if you do a color change, i would reccomend doing the door jams at least.

Blacks pretty cool. Silver would be pretty sweet too... and somewhat different than the norm.

Unless your going to do the engine bay, door jambs and all of it, the same color it was painted at the factory.

Don't listen to your friends.

Don't spend $1k to paint a $1500 car.

I second Maximan's suggestion. I also have a silver Maxima. Mine's a 1989 GXE with the 549 paint code silver over charcoal cloth. It's really my favorite color combination. If/when I get mine repainted I plan on upgrading the silver color to one of the newer Nissan/Infiniti silvers. Here are some codes that were used on the JDM Skylines:

1N4 - mixture of KL0 (silver) and KM1 (grey metallic)
KG1 - Jet Silver Metallic
KH2 - Gunmetal Grey Metallic
KL0 - Spark Silver Metallic
KR4 - Sonic Silver
KV2 - Athlete Silver
KYO - R34 Z-Tune Special Silver
WV2 - Sparkling Silver

I may also go with a two tone. I'm not sure yet which ones. Probably a lighter/brighter one up top and a darker one below, or some pattern.

Good luck choosing!

Like the color on 350's:

Only Darker and with pearl in it. A really lustrous rich color. It would look really hot with the contrast of your black tint- (And black interior?) And set off the bright white rims. Fierce and ready to pounce.....

like a tiger.

I really deep burgundy color would probably look pretty good. Darker than the maroon maxes.

Shavedmax's 'Goldmember' is here: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/210618

My question with regard to that color is - why repeat it? It's been done. And the color only worked in my opinion because he went full out with the modding. And the type of modding he did suited the color he chose.

Like many of the guys here, I tend to think the closer you stay to your original color the less it will look like a repaint. But if your painters are going to truly strip the car down and do it properly (engine bay, door jambs, remove all trim), then I guess go for whatever color your heart is telling you to paint it. My guess is silver isn't the color you want to settle with.

When I had loftier plans with my Max I had long dreamed of painting it with a paint made by 'House of Kolor' called BrandyWine. I think done tastefully, this could look sweet on a Maxima without entering in to gangsta wannabe territory.

You can see an example of the color here:

just paint your wheels to match your car and call it a day. or if your whole paint is messed up like mine is, keep it the same color, then paint the wheels, THEN call it a day.

I'm not crazy about Shavedmax's color, I was thinking more orange and less gold; darker with more of a deep gloss- with the lusture of the color you posted, but more of a burnt orange color. I do love that brandywine color you posted though, looks classy.
