never received what bought

i need help i bought something from a maxima.org member he emailed me that he was shipping out the product on feb 13 09 as of today it still didnt come i paid through paypal he emailed that he received the money but i never got what i bought i emailed him numerous times i messaged him to his maxima.org private messages he totally ignores all my correspondence i need help what can i do

First off, he should post the username of who he's dealing with so the rest of us know to stay away.

Second off, the first thing he should've done if he hadn't received the item or tracking number within a couple weeks is open up a paypal dispute.

Two really very basic steps. But what can I say? He's a new member so I'm guessing this is normal.

I know, you do have a point. He pm-ed me the details and didn't want to call the guy out right away. Apparently things are being resolved now because the seller was out of town.

In general, common sense should tell you (sellers in general) that if you sell something, you have to be prepared to ship in a reasonable timeframe. If you're going to be out of town, don't accept payment until you get back or make it clear when you will ship. Anyway, I think this situation should be fine, so I'm locking this thread until further notice.
