WTB - 7" Mids

I need another set of mids for my Maxima, as I believe one of my Seas CD18's may be blown. I'd like to stay with a 7" driver, and each driver needs to be 4ohm please. Give me all your suggestions, as I really haven't established a budget yet - I'll have to see what grabs my attention.

I have about 350wrms @ 4ohms to play with per driver, so I should have ample power to drive most anything I can fit in my doors. This will be in a 2 way setup, and installed with the rest of my system in my sig.

Lemme know whatcha got!

The ad on woofersect reads as if they are a 6.5, but the mounting flange looks the same as my 7" Seas - would they be the same? How would they compare to the Seas in upper-end response?

How high do you need them to go? These will pretty much do it all but give you TONS of midbass after break in ~100 hours standard break in and another 50-75 for FULL FULL break in.

They are more like a 7" talk to Don if you need some, maybe he could get ya somethin.

Well I have the Seas neos for tweeters, so they go fairly low, but I don't really like crossing them that low - right now I have the crossover point for mids/tweets at 4k. The neos get a little harsh for me if I try to cross them over any lower than that, so I'd like to stay somewhere around there.

Also, I like my mids to have a more "in your face" sounds, as opposed to a "warm" sound if you know what I mean(think tube-amp sound; yuk...). The DLS Iridiums were way too warm for me, and the Seas seem to be about right. I've never heard the Dyns though...

Guess I'll be tracking Don down now. <Sigh>

The Dyn's are definitely not warm, but I don't know if they can play that high effectively. Talk to da don

Uh, yeah; after milling over some of the info on these, it looks like they are a little out of my price range right now. I don't want to spend that kind of money if I am leaving for the ARMY in a few weeks.

I am seriously considering the following 2 drivers;

http://www.madisound.com/catalog/pro...roducts_id=823

http://www.parts-express.com/pe/psho...74&ctab=1#Tabs

The Seas are about the same as what I have now, except they are ohm. Since I have power to spare, I don't think that would be an issue. The Seas also look to extend up a bit higher, handle more power, plus they're Seas

I can get a near=new set of the Daytons for $70 shipped, and the Seas will be about $170 shipped. I am thinking about paying extra for the Seas unless something better comes along...

No more options, I promise...
