Caliper slide pins not the same ?!?
Caliper slide pins not the same ?!?
I'm doing my brakes. So far, I've done the left and right rear brakes.
The passenger rear brakes had sliding pins with a rubber bushing at the end to make it more "tight" It actually felt too airtight in the caliper and the pins dont slide so easily. It was actually stuck in.
The driver rear has pins without a rubber bushing at the end, and it slides easily.
Why is rear with rubber bushing and left without? I think they were mixed up last brake job.
What goes where?
Thx

Ok im almost done w the front, and those are not the same pins.
Front, the lower pin has the rubber bushing at the end. Top one has none.
Is it the same thing for the rear brakes? The person who did the last brake job put 2 pins with bushing on one side and 2 without on the other.... I just want to know which pin goes where.
Anyone knows? Thx.

Look, if you cant help me, dont post stupid crap. They were like that, I dont know who did them last time.
I just want to make sure they are ok this time.
Where does the pin with the rubber tip go for front and rear?

According to some post on another forum, the rubber goes on top. (rear were messed, and front were the opposite... oh well, so I put the rubber on top for both, and if it's not that, I'll change it later...
One of my rubber seals for the rear was swollen and feels sticky. I used some sandpaper to reduce it a bit to make it fit, but i'll probably go buy replacement rubber rings, if anyone can tell me where they go
Maybe nissan?
And BTW, the hawk HPS brake 2 times better than what I had before (probably not stock). I had more pad left than I though, but oh well... now they're new, I sanded the rotors a bit, wirebrushed some rust, and lubed the slide pins and pad contact points, and I installed my summer tires

According to my nissan dealership, he said that the lower rear pin has the rubber bushing (not boot).
Therefore, the webpage that says that the bushing is top is wrong.
So, the pin with the rubber bushing is bottom. I've ordered the rubber kits for both rear calipers, includes everything to rebuild. Piston seals, etc. I'll use both boots and bushings since both the rear bushing are dead and one rear boot is torn.
